By pressing the key FN or Function (depends on your keyboard) and type the F11 key, lock and unlock the keyboard. But I don´t think it´s the case of yours problem. If I was you , I´d try to test with an USB keyboard (and mouse, if this work). It´s common the PS2 interface (also known as mini-dimm) have problem in the motherboard, then the mouse and keyboard stops to work suddenly.

1.reset the jumper cap on the mother board and then recnfigure the setup utility.this will solve it.

to reset the jumper cap.
open the system unit and try to locate three stand alone pins
remove the cap from pin 1 & 2 and drop it at 2& 3 for 30 seconds depending on your system brand. then replace and start the system

HP DC7700 small form factor. Keyboard and mouse not working while booting and unable to login. Please help me out. Thanks, James

Are the Keyboard and Mouse USB or Wireless USB. Meaning those Wireless keyboards and mice that you can get and from Microsoft or Logitech. Make sure you have batteries replaced or recharged for your keyboard and mouse. Then see if this solved the problem.

I have a xp pro system. The keyboard and mouse work during BIOS. They will not work in safe mode or in windows. I have tried other keyboards and mice. None of them work. I am running eyeonet dvr software....

somewhere in the bios you might have a setting for lecgacy or usb 1 or usb 2. just select a different option and try again. this sounds like a common problem but only the other way around. usually if the usb setting is wrong a keyboard doesnt work in bios but works in windows.

I have a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse (model 1061) that was working fine. Somehow it has lost connection and neither works. How do i reconnect?

There should be a button on the wireless receiver. Hit that, and hit the buttons on the underside of both devices as well. That should sync them back up.

Medion Media PC Model 8828 uses wireless keyboard and mouse,(Liteon SK-7225). The keyboard has failed. Any tricks please? Alternatively, where could I but a direct replacement? Many thanks indeed. ...

The wireless keyboards & mice work on batteries, try replacing the batteries first, if that doesn't work you may try with an USB(or PS2) replacement keyboard/mouse.

Trying to bind my MX400 Mouse's forward and backward buttons inside of games. I've been using the Setpoint tool, tried binding them to keys on the keyboard with no success.

Try setting the buttons to "generic" in SetPoint and then assign fuctions via the game options.

From Logitech Knowledge Base:
The information in this article applies to the following products:
All Logitech Mice
Logitech SetPoint
Cause:
Most games that support a mouse will give you options to program or assign specific functions to various buttons on the mouse. These games normally look for generic mouse buttons when attempting to bind the mouse buttons to a game function. If the button is set to another function in SetPoint (such as Universal Scroll, Back, Forward, etc), the game may not see the mouse button as available to bind. This mainly affects buttons 3, 4, and 5.
Solution:
To resolve this issue, set the button you wish to program to a generic value in SetPoint. The following values should be used if you are having problems binding buttons in games.
Mouse Button 3 (The Middle Button/Scroll Wheel):
In SetPoint, assign this button as Middle Button or Generic Button.
Note for MX Revolution users: You must disable Logitech Smart Shift Technology or the Middle Button option will not be available in SetPoint.
Mouse Buttons 4 and 5 (Normally the thumb buttons):
In SetPoint, assign the thumb button(s) as Generic Button. Note that these buttons will still work in most browsers for forward and back. It is not necessary to assign these buttons to Forward and Back in SetPoint for this functionality.

I got 2 logitech wireless mice in same desk, because I dont have anywhere else to place them, and they interference with each other...How can I change frequencies? Please help Thanks

This is in the logitech knowledge base.

Question: ''When I move my cordless mouse, it moves the cursor on the system next to me. What should I do?''

Answer: ''This is called ''Cross talk'' and is characterized by one cordless device controlling the cursor or keyboard input of another device connected to a different computer. To avoid possible interference, try to keep the distance between systems at least 10 feet. Also, moving the mouse closer or further away to the receiver can also improve transmission and performance. If the above fails, try pressing and holding the ''Connect'' button on the receiver for 10 seconds. This will reset the receiver's connection information and allow you to do a first time connection with the receiver and mouse or keyboard. After holding the Connect button for 10 seconds, then press the Connect/Channel button on the bottom of the mouse to synchronize it with the receiver. If you have a cordless keyboard instead of, or in addition to, a cordless mouse, press the ''Connect'' button of the receiver again, then press the ''Connect/Channel'' button on the Keyboard. Perform these same steps on any other Logitech cordless devices in the area that are experiencing cross talk. Another step that can be tried is to remove the batteries for 15 minutes. Then re-insert them and boot the computer up. It is important that during this time, you do not press the connect button on the receiver or keyboard of the other cordless desktop system.

I could not find anything on mouse crosstalk in the Microsoft knowledge base. Perhaps the problem is not so common for MS mice because of their more limited range.

Buying a new mouse was suggested. This may or may not work if you bought a new Logitech mouse, as it could wind up on the same troublesome frequency. Of course, if you replaced the Logitech mouse with a Microsoft mouse, their limited ranges might eleminate the problem, even if they used the same frequency.

Keyboard and Mouse

Try pricewatch.com.....if it exists you can probably find it there. But..is it essential you have a square one? The only determining factor for a keyboard or mouse is the connection....that ranges from wireless (in which case you must also have a receiver), to usb to serial. Look at the end of your keyboard and mouse and match it..they have pictures. By the way I recently bought several mice and keyboards on sale at Gearxs.com.....paid $2.44 and $3.68. They were new and logitech and worked. Tango.
