Question about Panasonic SC-HT940 System

2 Answers

F-61 code last try for solution before I throw it away. Has been in the shop for two months now and the guy just called me and told me that Panasonic refuses to answer his calls for parts. Other repair shops advised that it would cost more to run dianostic and repair than it is worth. Panasonic told me that since it was two days beyond the one yr warranty that I was out of luck.

'01 Nissan Sentra stalling when stopped - shop has had it 5 months: help!

If the idle air control valve is working, the passage may be clogged. Other things to check are the PCV flow and possible vacuum leaks.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r7427423-fix_poor_idle_high_idle_stalling_fuel . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with engine size info.

My tv has a blue dots all around the television. Im thinking its the optical block? Maybe time for a new tv?

You are correct in thinking optical block, but here is the good news. For the cost of a service call a tech can come out with a jig and reprogram your optical block and the problem should go away. It may be worth the cost to fix. Unlike throwing away a 900 dollar optical block.

Red spot on screen

Got the same problem with same TV (PT-61-LCX65) that was bought 4 years go in 2006 - first red spot appeared, then few weeks ago got green one nearby. Fixed it for free.
I called Panasonic using the phone number in the manual (1-888-843-9788), selected Service, told that I got the problem which is most probably "a manufacturer's defect" that should be fixed for free - they redirected me to next step, then to next one and in about 20 minutes they arranged me a home-visit by support person (the guy had to drive 2 hours to get here!). Every thing went _very_ smoothly, I am very satisfied with Panasonic's support, it was just one call with few redirections.
The service guy came in two days, unscrewed back panel, connected some kind of box to one of the boards (eeprom programmer?), turned TV onto some channel and let the box do its job for about 5 minutes - then all of a sudden spots disappeared and picture is OK now. The service guy told me that the overall picture quality should have also improved all across the screen, I guess TV sends some kind of feedback to that box for optimization.
It was free service, the service guy mentioned something about law action and that Panasonic is required to fix that for free.

The LCD panel is defective. They are expensive. Call customer service and they may extend the warranty for you if you complain enough.

My panasonic has a softball size red spot on it, and the lamp light indicator is blinking. how can I fix this myself

It is software, ans is replaced for free even if it is out of warrantee.
Don't rush to replace the lamp, it is probably OK.
