Question about Linksys Wireless-G WUSB54G 802.11g/b

Need Linksys Driver(s)

I reinstalled Windows and cannot get my wireless connection to work. My server support people tell me they do not support wireless products and that I probably need to reinstall your program/driver(s). We lost the support disk in the last move. Can you help? Also I am sending this from a different computer. Cannot connect to internet right now from the one with the problem.

I added more information to my question that is now lost. My next question was how does the Belkin router work with the Linksys unit? If I install the driver will my wireless internet connection work or should I be prepared to do something else?

Download the driver, then install it, then restart pc, and it should work. Otherwise unplug the router for 10 seconds and plug back in sometimes rests the ip address which can cause conflicts as well.

HP LaserJet 1022 is a "host-based" printer so it must be connected to a PC. Load the driver on PC first and connect the USB cable when software tells you to do so.

Will not work on a Linksys print server.

LaserJet 1022N & LaserJet 1022NW have "special" HP print servers that can support HP host based printers.

Linksys wireless prnt server

Hi,

Based on your post description, I am assuming that:
1. You can connect to the Internet through your 2241 Neptoia modem;
2. You can access your WRT54G V8 Linksys Wireless router @ 192.168.1.1;
3. Both 1 & 2 above could be done through a wireless connection from your PC.

Connect everything as they are supposed to be wired (printer, Print Server, modem, router etc)

Pls try:
a. Connect the Linksys wireless print server using a lan cable to the Linksys WRT54G Wireless AP/router. (Will tackle the wireless connection a bit later)
b. Reset your print server; &
c. Do a diagnostic print-out.
Instructions for b & c are in page 4 of your manual.

You need to verify that:
i. the Power indicator is contnously green
ii. the Ethernet indicator is contnously green
iii. the USB indicator is contnously green
iv. the Wireless indicator may or may not be contnously green

Pls post back with the generated diagnostic print-out before we can proceed with the other steps.

Additionally, try installing the Epson Stylus Photo RX600 direct to one of the USB ports of your PC. Use the installer/driver CD that came with it. Try using it as a regular printer. This will tell us status of the printer.

Good luck and kind regards.

How can I connect wireless G print server to a 65bits windows vista without a problem, it just works for WIN XP

Hi, it appears that many are having problems with the WPS54G Print Server. I too have always found it hard to get pc to connect to it. My latest problem was with a Win 7, 64bit pc.

Setting up a printer with a print server is a two part configuration. First you need to configure the print server and then add a printer in your OS.

The following instructions are for a linksys wireless router and the linksys wirless print server model # WPS54G.

To set up the print server correctly go to this link.....http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=80&login=1&app=search&vw=1&articleid=4142&donelr=1

Following is the instructions from the above link:
Title: Connecting the PrintServer Wirelessly to a Wireless Router Article ID: 4142 Before configuring the wireless settings of the PrintServer, make sure to know the following settings on your linksys router: SSID, and wireless security. To check the wireless settings on the linksys router, click here.
Configuring the Wireless Settings on the PrintServer
The wireless settings of the PrintServer can be configured using its web-based utility. Make sure the PrintServer is set to a static IP on the network.

Record the Print Servers IP address you will need it later.

NOTE: Make sure the PrintServer is already working when hardwired to the linksys router before attempting to use it wirelessly on your network.
Step 1:
Access the PrintServer’s web-based setup page. Open a web-browser such as Internet Explorer.
NOTE: If you're using Mac, use Safari to access the PrintServer's web-based setup page.
Step 2:
Go to the address bar and enter the IP address you've assigned to the PrintServer.
NOTE: To assign the PrintServer a static IP address, click here.
Step 3:
When the PrintServer setup page appears, click Wireless.
Step 4:
Enter the same SSID you have on the linksys router. Make sure the Network Type is set to Infrastructure then click Save to apply your changes.
Step 5:
Click Security and look under the Security Mode field. Select the type of wireless security your router is currently using then enter the corresponding security keys.
Step 6:
Click Save to apply the settings then close the PrintServer setup page.
Step 7:
Unplug the Ethernet cable connecting the PrintServer to the linksys router. Power it off for 30 seconds then power it on.
Step 8:
Make sure the Wireless LED on the PrintServer is lit and the Ethernet LED is off to indicate that the PrintServer is in wireless mode then try to print wirelessly.

Stop if you can print at this point. If not continue. The following instructions are for Windows 7, 64 bit OS.

Once the above steps are completed open windows file explore. Click Network and you should see a "print server" listed. Click on PRINT SERVER and you will see a network icon labeled p1.

You should now be able to add a printer.

In win 7 open the add printer and click "Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer", and click next. A searching for printer window pops up. It will list any network printers or print servers it see's on your network. You should see a listing titled "p1 on Print Server".

At this point you need to click "The printer that I want isn't listed. This is just below the "Select a printer" box.

Next a "Find a printer by nane or TCP/IP address" window opens. Select "Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname. Click next.

Another window pops up which ask for a printer host name or IP address. Enter the IP address of your print server (the one you recorded when setting up your print server), and click next.

The next windows states the device is of unknown type. Under Device Type, make sure Standard is checked. Out to the right is a down arrow, click it and you should see many different devices displayed. Scroll until you find "Hewlet Packard Jet Direct", click on it to select it and click next.

Finally a "Install the printer Driver" window should open. Select your printer and follwing the instructions. If your printer is not listed you can click "Window Update" which will look for new printer divers. Once the printer driver is installed you should be able to print.

As you can see this in not a simple printer install. Good luck!

No internet access with new Linksys wireless PCI Adapter

Don .bin is a firmware that can upload to the linksys router or any router.

So it seems that your unable to connect wirelessly using the linksys adapter? The Internet connection before is working properly?

*I might advise you to reinstall the driver of your wireless adapter using the latest driver that you can download in there support site.

- Check the Internet connection hardwired to the router if connection works it seems that problem is on the adapter.

Lost the Driver for Linksys PCI wireless adapter, model wmp 54g

Go to your Device Manager and on the right side look and find Network Adapters. Expand the Network Adapter by clicking on it so you can see your Wireless Network Adapter. If it has a yellow exclamation on it then you need to install the correct driver, if it doesn have that exclamation the it may already have the correct driver. It may also be disabled ( red X) so enable it.

Check the wireless connection properties. On the "General" tab and in the middle look for and find "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" . Highlight it and click "properties". Make sure here that if you have set-up your router to connection type of DHCP that "Obtain IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" are the only ones checked.

Have print server, was working great now nothing!!

HI Irwilliams,

when you uninstall and reinstall a printer on the network you have to let windows attempt to detect it again. i would recommend opening the control panel>printers and deleting the one you want to use. then click on add a printer and allow windows to detect a printer on your network.

please tell me how this goes.

Bad Wireless Connection

This is usually caused by a driver glitch. From the device manager, uninstall the drivers for the wireless, then reboot. The machine will find and reinstall the drivers. If the problem persist, the take the card out, clean the connections, and reinstall it. It's located under a panel on the bottom of the machine. If it still won't work, then you need to replace the wireless card.
