I have three dirt devil scorpion hand held vacs - model 0882. I need a replacement battery for one of them. I have read the manual about removing the dead battery, but there is no mention of where to find a replacement. I contacted "Batteries Plus" and they said they would have to "build" a replacement battery at the cost of 21.99!!! That's more than a new scorpion costs!! I purchased them on 10/6/06 - It is my understanding that there is a 3 yr warranty. It seems like they should last longer than 1 & 1/2 yrs. Please help me with this problem. We love the product!!!

Find a repair shop that repairs what ever brand this is and see if they can get one for you.

Need charging station for Shark Cyclonic 12 volt cordless power-vac

Buy a replacement charger from the Shark Cyclonic dealer. It is important that the specs match the battery, one or two volts higher can shorten the battery life by quite a large amount.

Dirt devil doesn[t hold charge

Try running the battery all the way down by letting the vacume run in a corner or another room and even when it stops leave it on for a hour to drain the battery. Then shut the switch off and try charging the battery. Make sure the charger is putting out enough volts by looking at the rated output of the charger and while it is plugged in check it with a volt meter. If it does not hold a charge and the charger is putting out the right voltage you need to purchase a new battery for the vacume

Do I need to replace the battery as my dustbuster does not seem to have a lot of power and therefore does not pick up as it used to?

Yes the battery is most probably the problem. you can check is the voltage of the fully charge battery is same as what is stated on it, if not you definitely need a new battery

My phv1800 18 volt hand vac's battery seems to be running down. is there any way to revive it? if not; can i purchase a new battery to replace it? thank you!

If you are handy with a soldering iron, and don't mind spending a few hours building a new battery pack using 1.2 volt "sub c" cells, you can disassemble the PHV1800, and rebuild the pack yourself. I just did it tonight, and the vacuum works like new.

However, I'm not going to do this again. The PHV1800 doesn't use a single battery pack, but 2 packs that have to be assembled with very little room for error. You can purchase a combination battery pack/motor assembly for $75 (US currency, price currect as of 10/2011), unscrew the screws that hold the vacuum together, and replace the battery/motor unit as one.

Brand new : battery charges to 60 minutes ( 8 hours)and by the next day is completely discharged.

It sounds like the battery has a faulty cell in the battery that never lets it hold a full charge or lets it bleed off. I would take it back and exchange it.

Could you provide a model number?? There may be some settings on the vacume that are continuing to use power even though it is not in use.

Thanks

Stopped working a few weeks ago - bought and installed new battery seemed to be working OK - now after about a week, it goes for about 15 minutes then stops...

It may need a longer charging period to bring the battery up to full charge. If you have a voltmeter, measure the battery voltage while it is being charged--it should read several volts above the rated battery voltage. If nearly equal, the charge unit may need repair or replacement. Good luck!

My dc 16 rechargeable vacuum won't work

far as i know the dyson dc 16 root 6 vacuum uses a lithium ion battery with a charge of 21.6 volts. it could be that either your battery isnt storing the right amount of power anymore and you may need to replace it. check on the specifications to confirm how much volts the battery is supposed to have. too little volts may be enough for things like lights to switch on, but not enough for the motor to start up.

Want to buy a charger for Shark Cordless Sweeper

If you have the old charger, look at the pin and read the output. Many electronics clearance stores sell a generic charger which will match the output in volts and amps as long as you find the identical pin configuration. Volts may exceed the original battery rating by 20%, amps can as well. IE I have a 9.6 volt charger on my 7.2 volt battery pack.
