By very weird do you mean like part of the screen opens like sort of a ghost and then the rest slowly appears? I would first suggest running anti spyware and anti adware on your pc. Spyware, malware and adware can greatly reduce your speed. If you don't have any, I would suggest Spybot Search and Destroy and AdAware. These are both free. If you have some kind of programs like these make sure you have the latest definitions and that you run them at least once a week. Also, when is the last time you did a defrag on your hard drive? A defragmented hard drive can also slow down your pc. I'll add a comment with the links for Spybot and AdAware in case you don't have them. I use several because no one program catches everything. Back in a minute.

Hi,

Malwarebytes.org sounds full of spyware, use a registry cleaner Pirifom.com Ccleaner, start up in Safe mode with Networking before you do all this, also a full Virus scan in order.. If all else fails a full format of the operating system works everytime.. ;o) don't forget to back up your data first.. Good Luck..

My pc is slow run

TRY THIS :-
Free up disk space. A hard drive that is close to being full will drastically slow down your computer. You can clear up space by deleting temporary internet files, empty your recycle bin, remove programs that you do not use, put important files on an external hard drive.
Another way to free up disk space is to use "Disk Cleanup" on your Windows PC. To do this, click "start" and go to "Accessories", go to "System Tools", and click "Disk Cleanup".
Scan for Viruses, Adware, and Spyware. These nasty programs can slow down your computer worse than anything. I would recommend purchasing software that can remove all three of these common problems.
Don't automatically start up programs when you turn your computer on. Close any programs that you do not use that open when you start up your computer. These programs will run in the background and steal RAM (Random Access Memory).

Windows xp dilemma?

Go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and run a scan of your computer.

If after that you are still getting "weird" stuff, back up your important files and run your recovery program. (Not restore.) I have found that restore seldom works with a lot of malware.

Windows closing slow means you have a bunch of program that are running in the back ground. Windows has to close each before the system can shut down. To see just what is running in the back ground. Allow windows to completly finish opening. Click the start button, click run. In the window type, msconfig & click ok. System Configuration Utility window will open. Click on the Startup tab. Now you can see just what programs are running in the back ground.
Adding memory can also help speed up a slow pc & keeping the system clean by using the two programs listed next.
First. Run disk cleanup, a windows program found in system tools. Than run Defrag also found in system tools. Restart the pc when finished. This should help your system to run a bit better.
If you have the CD that came with the sound card uninstall the software through Add/ Remove programs found in the control panel. Restart the pc. Reinstall the drivers from the CD & try opening a few programs. Open & run the program your using to play music. Any better? If not try using another music program like iTunes a free download found here. http://www.apple.com/itunes/
You can also try the drivers from creative they may be newer than your CD here: http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/welcome.asp?action=next
Enjoy!
