SOURCE: fr50 beep

Hello mtnrvr,

The Motorola TalkAbout radios, especially the FR50 and FR60, are notorious for making a variety of beeps when you push buttons and activate various functions of the radio.

The beeps can be helpful when you are trying to operate the radio in low-light situations. But they can also be mildly irritating.

Sadly most models of TalkAbout do not provide any way to disable the beeps. I'd suggest not using this particular radio for covert surveillance missions.

Best Regards,

Agent Ken

You have done a good job under the circumstances. It could be a bad start/run capacitor as well. It carries a lot of amperage so I suggest hiring a technician to check the capacitor and the motor.

SOURCE: thermostat ?

I'm thinking the bi-metal is working, that's why you can hear a click, but the contacts are welded together. The bi-metal doesn't have enough strength to break the weld. Time for a new thermostat.

Fan stops working when unit is running in the cooling mode

If this is a window type unit, it is set on energy savings. This makes the fan cycle with the compressor. Take it off energy savings and the cooling should cycle with the cold control and the fan should stay on..

My washing machine has started beeping during the wash cycle - why?

Try running the same wash cycle with no clothes in the machine, just the water.
If it does not beep you are overloading it or the load is unbalanced.

Wiring schematic for an old honeywell R8325C1020-8514 fan center relay..

Without a picture Mike, I'm not sure this answer is absolutely correct but.... most of the old fan centers had a multitap transformer so different colored wires were provided to connect to 110v, 208v or 230v. If thats what it is, white was common to the black for 110v. White was common to orange for 208v and white was common to red for 230v.

If you have red and black hanging loose, possibly the center is connected to orange and white with 208v power supply. Of course many times, the orange and red were interchanged with 208v OR 230v.

Another point is that virtually all residential gas furnaces operate on 110v and 208/230v operated electric furnace.

As stated above, without a picture this is just a reasonably educated guess....Conventional furnaces less than 15 years old typically no longer have fan centers.

Toshiba Satellite Pro P35-S605 beeps upon power up then crashes and reboots.

Can you get into Safe Mode? I suspect your configuration needs tweeking.

Also I would immediately go into the Bios and make the boot order be CD, HD.. etc. Also make note of any hidden partitions such as H, or K. Those sometimes house a mirror of the factory version of XP... like when it was new.

Good luck

My Dometic AC on my travel trailer cools well but I cannot set the fan to stay on when the compressor cycles off. Can a different switch or board be installed to allow the fan to stay on?

An energy saver setting is what it sounds like. Turn off energy saver feature and fan should run 100% and compressor cycle on-off separately. If not familiar with energy saver setting .make sure it has one or not before disregarding this.

Outside Fan Problems

TRY CHANGING THE CAP FIRST BUT MOST UNITS ONLY USE THE CAP TO START THE MOTOR NOT TO KEEP IT RUNNING SO IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A BAD CAP AND THATS WHY IT DOESNT START HOWEVER IF IT STOPS RUNNING WITHOUT THE THERMOSTAT TELLING IT TO (OR IN THE MIDDLE OF A CYCLE) THEN YOUR RUN WINDING IN YOUR MOTOR IS GOING BAD YOU CAN REPLACE THIS MOTOR PRETTY EASY AND IF YOU USE AN AFTER MARKET INSTEAD OF AN OEM MOTOR YOU CAN SAVE YOURSELF ALOT OF MONEY. PS BE CAREFULL WHEN CHANGING YOUR CAP BECAUSE EVEN WITH THE POWER OFF IT CAN SHOCK YOU.AFTER SHUTTING THE POWER OFF USE AN INSULATED SCREWDRIVER AND TOUCH IT ACROSS THE POLES AT THE TOP OF THE CAP TO GROUND IT AND REMOVE POTENTIAL ENERGY.

Control climbs on its own. fan slowing down a bit

If the air flow has decreased since new perhaps the air filter has not been cleaned. This may also solve your problem of the temp climb
