I have the newest model of the saltwater system the CS8111.ITs the one that adds copper to the water as well as chorine.It has worked fine for about 6 weeks.Now when I press the Boost button to add copper the units just makes a beeping sound and the 80 code number does not appear as it should.Does anyone have an idea why this happening and how to solve the problem?

IF YOU CANT SEE IT THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO OPEN THE PUMP AND CHECK THE IMPELLER TO SEE IF IT IS OK

Check the electrolytic cell!!! You will get a low salt alarm if cell has calcium or sodium build up.. If it does, soak, flush and clean with vinegar.. Also, make sure you run the pump only, no chlorinator for 24 hrs to properly disolve the salt you just put in....

-The directions say: Drain about 20% of the pool water and add fresh water to decrease the copper ion concentration below 0.2 ppm

-Add aluminum sulfate .027 ounces per 1000 gals. or aluminum potassium sulfate 0.4 ounce per 1000 gal.

-Use Ultra-swim shampoo containing chelating agents.

If your salt is at the correct levels required for your pool and your still getting the "91" code on your LCD screen do not add more salt you need to clean the plates on the chlorinator. Look at your manual and it gives you instructions on how to remove, clean, and replace the chlorinator section on the pump. Reminder, if your PH and/or alkalinity levels are off you'll be cleaning the plates often because of the scale build up. I personally run my pump 4 hrs daily and I have never had a problem with green water however, once it did become cloudy (white) I began treating with algaecide and changing filter every 3 hrs. It cleared it right up. I love the Krystal Clear System.

Green water is indicative of copper in the water ... let the CL go down (the lower the better) add a sequestering agent according to package instruction ... then introduce CL again.

Conversely, the filter will eventually take it out.
