start /run capacitor failed ( motor just hums)
overloaded -- thermal switch off or faulty motor does nothing
pump seized -- motor does nothing and trips the thermal switch with in seconds of being switched on
Your pressure washer is either not fitted with a run/stop device in which case like mine you have to switch off within a few seconds of closing the trigger. Check your model features?
The humming noise is the motor stalled out against the pump because there is nowhere for the water to go. The shutoff is caused by the safety overload switching off after overheat.
Or, it has a pressure operated run/stop which is not working. Because water and electricity don't mix, I would suggest getting more specific help. You can download Karcher manuals /spares lists online from Karcher specialists but remember electricity is the silent killer.
No model and brand name .
the way you mention look like the main motor jammed and making the humming noise click out on overload then the humming noise stop and after a while it will humming again and continue like that until you switch off the machine. If the dishwasher is old I would recommand you buy a new one instead of changing the motor. God Bless have a nice day Dickson
sound to me like you have a sock or some other foreign debris in the pump which is attached to your motor (thats your humming noise) now get all the water that you can out of the washer pull it out from the wall about a foot or two lean the washer against the wall making sure it wont fall on you look under and up and you will see a plastic part with two hoses on it this is the pump on the front is two clip on bracket with 1/4" screws remove the screws and pop off the claps lower the washer and start it again if it runs there is something in the pump if it humms and cuts off it is the motor. To remove the crud from the pump get alot of dirty towels for the floor and the remove the claps on the hoses after removing the hoses look inside and you will probly find that missing sock or a bra underwire let me know how it goes bill '
there is a relay/overload/compasitor that plugs into the compressor. when this part goes bad the compressor will hum then click. its a pretty common problem with frigidaire but very easy to replace
