Question about Canon PIXMA MX310 All-In-One Printer

Can't close scanner unit door on Canon MX320

..Just got this unit out of the box. I opened the scanner unit door to remove packing material and now I cannot get it to close. I have folded the support arm back but door won't close. It seems to be hanging up on a hinge support on the opposite rear side ...it has teeth on it. I hope it's something simple or back it goes. This is a Canon MX320 all in one.
Thanks!

Yes, it uses hydraulic mechanism to slowly close itself. Amazingly elegant design, but it confuses users who are not familiar with it.

Changing ink instructions canon MP240

With the printer on, open the paper output tray. Then lift up the scanner unit (with the document cover closed). Make sure the support is holding the scanner unit. Then wait until the cartridges move to the replacement area. Pinch the tabs together to open the cartridge locking cover (it just rotates up). Then remove the cartridge by pulling it towards you. Prepare the new cartridge - remove it from the box and remove the orange tape. Do not touch the electrical contacts or the print nozzles.

Slide the new cartridge into the cartridge slot (color on the left). Then close the locking cover - it should click into place. Make sure the cover is correctly closed. Lift the scanner unit to disengage the support and lower the scanner to close it. Wait for the printer to clean the new print heads before sending a new job to the printer. (It will finish printing a job that was in progress when the ink ran out.)

Note: if the scanner unit is open for too long, the cartridges will move to their home position. Close the scanner unit and reopen it.

You can find pictures of the procedure at Canon's support site: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp240#ServiceAndSupport . Searach for replace ink cartridge. Altternatively, go to the Brochures and Manuals page and see the manual.

I hope this helps.

I recently bought a Canon PIXMA MX320 all in one printer with my macbook. It works fine, but I can't figure out how to scan an image onto my laptop.

You need to control the scanner through your PC with canon software that came with your scanner otherwise you cant scan anything..first open the printer/scanner software ,select scanner, then place your document and command "scan" from the software.
Good luck, do rate the solution if helped

How do I change the ink on my Canon MX320

Just open the top cover together with the scanner bed.
When the cartridge carrier move in the middle of the printer, that is the time you can replace the catridge. Lift up the top cover for the cartridge carrier and then the cartridges.

When replacing the cartridge. Push the cartridge down the carrier, you will hear a snapping sound. Return the top cover for the carrier and the scanner bed.

I am setting up a new Canon Pixma MP980. I lifted the scanner unit until it locked open to remove red packing tape and to have a look inside. Now I find I can't close the cover. How do I release the lock...

Over on the left there is a small two-position slide switch with pictures of an open lock and a closed one. Slide the switch to the rear (Open lock) and close the cover.
