No video effects tab on my logitech webcam

You can get the software here:

Click on downloads, then select your OS type.

Visit the Logitech website and browse the photo gallery for your model and click on the photo to navigate to the support page.
Note - Older models on page 2 - look for the link at the bottom right of page 1 and click on it "Still can't find your product?"

In addition to the Logitech installer you will need to check the support software - Microsoft DirectX . This comes pre-loaded on most Windows computers but has to be updated - I am currently on version 11
To start the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, click 'Start', click 'Run', type dxdiag in the Open box, and then click OK
Run through the tabs checking the 'notes' windows for information
The version will be shown on the 'Systems' tab

Procedure to re-install Logitech software
Close all programs while uninstalling - downloading and uploading software
Disconnect your webcam
Uninstall the current webcam software on your computer
Restart computer
Download the Installation package from Logitech
Run the installer and choose your options during the installation - You may not want Logitech Chat but the Desktop icon for the webcam toolbar is a must.
Connect your webcam when prompted.
Before going into the programs, reboot the webcam software by unplugging the webcam for a few seconds.
Do not start the webcam using the Logitech software but allow the program software to have full control.

If you are trying to upload the software from a CD try downloading the installation wizard from the website.

The amount of tools on your toolbar or dashboard is limited by your OS. The older the OS the less features you have.
From the top I have (Vista)
Quick Capture - (2 film frames)
Video Effects - ( 2 theatre masks)
Privacy shades - (window blind)
Settings- (2 gearwheels)
Video calling ( 2 head and shoulders)
Help (Question Mark)
Microphone/ Video mute ( mic & cam)
Logitech Homepage ( Logitech logo)

Logitech
1) Clean the lens
2) Launch the Logitech toolbar. Open the Video Effect menu (2 theatre masks) and make sure no video effects are applied
2) Check your DirectX
3) If thats OK uninstall the Logitech Software and re-install

Make sure you have Microsoft DirectX installed
The features you get with your webcam depend on your OS
Check out what you have by launching the toolbar and clicking on the Video Effects menu ( 2 theatre masks )

You can Install from the CD you obtained when you Purchase the Product.Just Insert and it will Prompt to Install .Then Do it.. OR

• Select your OS(Operating System tab)
• Select your File(32 /64)
• click On Download Software

• After Installation
• Reboot your PC
• You are Done and Ready to Use

Try the free webcam test tool and select the C200 from the drop down list. If you can see yourself the webcam is working, if not you will need to reload the driver software. If it is working launch Skype, and go to Settings, Camera to select the C200 and it should work. To select webcams in MSN click Tools, Audio & Video set up, Next. It should give you the option to choose what camera you want to use.

The multiple images were probably selected from your 'Video Effect' menu
Launch the logitech toolbar
Click the "Quick capture" ( 2 reel clips picture ) on the toolbar to start your webcam and test your drivers are working ok
If you have muliple images, keep the webcam running and click on the video effects ( 2 theatre masks ). Ensure no effects are selected and finally trim the image by selecting 'Settings' ( 2 gear wheels ) and fine tune your image. Use the Advanced tab to change the mirror images if necessary

The only way to get drivers for windows 2000 is to contact the support team of logitech and request them to email you the setup file for win 2000.
