Have you taken all the bobin parts out of the area and cleaned out all the lint? This should solve your problem. Also, for the reverse, unplug for a few minutes, if this doen't solve that problem then it needs repair.

I have a Husqvarna Viking Quilt Designer II that the reverse button does not reverse. It continues to sew forward when I hold and press the reverse button. Thank you for your help.

If, the machine has been sitting, take a hair dryer and heat where the reverse lever is. Try this, it worked on mine. If, that does not work, try cleaning and oiling your machine according to your manual.

Reverse not working. Pressing the reverse button isn't engaging the machine in reverse - the light has gradually stopped coming on, it appears to be disconnected.

take your machine to a Viking dealer and have them check it out. it probably has a worn 8 button keypad. the reverse button is usually the first to wear out. this not a DIY project.

I have a Husqvarna Optima 620, and as of today, it only runs backwards (no matter which stitch pattern I choose). The reverse button moves freely, but it doesn't do anything, so I think something's...

You start by getting a service manual. Soundss like the reverse switch quit working. If you have electricial knoledge , bypass or jump pout switch in reverse direction( with it upnplugged, of course, to confirm dianoisis.

Counting hours sewn

Go into the Service Menu by pressing and holding the reverse feed button and the sensor foot pivot button while switching the machine on. The display screen will now show Menu 1. On the third row down touch MENU button. The display changes to show Menu 2. At bottom of screen you will now see ON-TIME - SEW-TIME - EMBR-TIME.
I would not recommend touching any other buttons or settings. Switch the machine off and restart as normal.

Designer 1 reverse won't select, no light at all

The designer 1 has a weakness of the reverse pad (rubber button set) on left side of the machine wearing out and not working. You can try pushing from different angle, or pushing hard, but it most likely needs to be replaced. If you did buttonholes with the buttonhole sesor foot (foot with a wheel and a cord that plugs in), it would automatically size the buttonhole and you wouldn't need to reverse and you can use "FIX" to tie a knot instead of reverse

Machine won't go into reverse

What model machine are we talking about here? If it is a Designer 1, Reverse doesn't show up on the screen. You need to hit the Reverse button twice in succession, the button stays lit up, and the machine should sew in reverse until you hit Reverse again or change stitch.

When a reverse arrow shows on the screen, it is usually when a programmable stitch is selected and you need to hit Reverse to complete the programmed task.

Get back with more detail on your machine and the problem, and maybe I can offer some more specific help.

Sewing backwards

The reverse button works by hitting it twice in succession to make it stay on (it lights up), and you turn it off my hitting it once again. If you just want to reverse for a little bit, you hold it down while you sew, then let go. Is the button lit all the time?
Having said that, it sounds like Nannayoyo needs to take her machine to a service centre - the electronics behind the button panel might need replacing. Is it possible the button is stuck in? Maybe phone a Husqvarna service person - not a sales person - and ask for advice.
Everyone - are your machines new? If yes, you need to go back to the sales centre straight away and get it fixed or replaced while you wait. If these are problems that have just appeared when your machine used to work perfectly, probably the best solution is to take it for a service. It might just be a speck of dust has settled on the electronics behind the panel and is causing unpredictable behaviour.

Reverse only?

Hi,

I too just aquired a husqvarna viking 6030 that was stuck in straight-stitch reverse. No forward, no zig zag, no button hole, no cam stitches. I also suspected a broken spring, since the reverse button was slack and had no resistance. But after inspecting every moving part, I realized it was just stuck from many years of non-use. I finally got it free today! I had used some Tri-Flow oil and applied it sparingly to all moving points (but not belts or motor). I exercised all the buttons and like another poster (either here or elsewhere, not sure) I used my hair dryer to apply heat to the inside of the machine through the cam slot. After you remove the white cover on back of machine that holds the two spool spindles, you will see a formed aluminum part just behind the reverse dial that has a rounded-pointed protrusion which sort of looks like a fat flat head screwdriver. It is supposed to travel in an up-down motion when reverse button is pressed. I used a flat head driver to coax its movement, and once it began moving, I continued with heat and drops of oil. Good luck.
