Sounds like the CPU HSF is loose or has stopped
The HSF.. heat sink and fan needs to be running or the motherboard sensors will just shut the computer down.
This board in an intel LGA775 and uses this type of CPU cooler

You can get a new 1 for under £10 and they are not to hard to fit

Once the truck is hot, and i turn it off It will not start up util I allow it to cool down.

A couple of things maybe: the ignition control module, or the crank position sensor. I f you have a distributor, the ICM would be inside the dist. If a coil pack, the ICM is probably underneath the coils on the coil pack.
Sometimes, an ignition coil too will get hot and short out. That's 3 things you could check. Have you tried to check for spark when it won't start? If no spark, any of the 3 things noted. If you do have spark, see if the fuel pump is quitting and putting out no pressure.

My 91 accord has been giving me grief 4 months. Sure would appreciate any help - TX GREASEMONKEY, u have been on the mark b4, want to take a shot... Its my only transportation and has been down 4 a month....

When you say you have fuel, do you have normal fuel pressure at the injectors ? Because Honda cars are known for faulty fuel pump relays.
The relay stops powering the pump when it gets hot but will start back up when the relay cools off.

Car dies when motor is hot

There is a good chance your ICM has gone bad and will need to be replaced. you can remove it and have it tested before you buy the new ICM at most parts store.

When the ICM starts to go bad, the engine will start to have issues to what you described. Good luck and keep us posted.

Bad cam shaft senser

You could have a faulty engine coolant sensor or intake air temperature sensor. Fuel injectors clogged or dirty flooding engine.
Clean fuel injectors, replace fuel filter and air filter, and see if the problem persists.
If it does ECT sensor is bad. If CMP sensor was bad, the vehicle won\'t start whether cold or hot. CKP senso and CMP sensor work together if either one fails, the vehicle won\'t start. Have the vehicle code scanned.

Car wont start when hot

there's a host of things that would do that, one is your starter Bendix could be getting hot, when it cools your able to start again, but as I've said many things can do that , maybe a ignition module his breaking down when it gets hot. Mike j

I have a 97 blazer starts fine stalls at 230deg starts when cool

Check the electronics in the distributor. Chevs are notorious for the electronics going bad inside of the distributor.

My 3.8 olds 88 just just stops like turning the key off. you let is sit for half hour and it will restart. Is thire a maginet on the cam in side the timing chain cover?

Start with the simple and replace the fuel filter and inspect the ICM. (ignition control module) A failing ICM will stop working when it get's hot and when it cools off, it will work again and eventually the ICM will stop working at all.

Thank you for using fixya and start with the fuel filter if it has not been replaced once a year or 25,000 miles.

OK I have a 97 savana 1500 van runs great until it gets hot and then when you shut it off and try to restart will not start acts ike no gas. pump runs, I thought maybe vapor lock but no go there either. It...

If you have good fuel pressure, then i'ld lean towards the Ignition Control Module (ICM) it's around $40.00 at Auto Zone. They work when there still cold and when they heat up, they start to fail till they cool down again and eventually they fail totally. Auto Zone will have the step by step instruction to getting the job done. The ICM is under the rotor in the distributor, and the wires may also be corroded or broken. Inspect for any damages to the wire harness in the distributor before installing the new ICM. Good luck and hope this helps.

Computer switches off when to hot and then won't start till cool

possibly control module, they like to fail when they get hot, if you can find it (in or by the distributor) and take it off, some auto parts stores can test them
