Hi,

If the black tape and rubber melted on the copper wire, it means the copper wire is damage.

you will have to replace the copper wire on panel of your Danby.

Thanks for contacting Fixya.

Hello,

it means that the things that got melted was as a result of heat or excess power supply entering into the unit. This is what must have caused the melting.

You need to replace those melted items.

Take care.

Temp display is flashing "ee" but seems to be cold inside.

EE mean that the cable between the mainboard and the display have a problem. I think it doesn't affect the coldness of the unit.

There are an explanation manual behind the back bottom panel.

In my case soon after having reset this error, the cable melted and took in fire.

How to check:
There is a black panel under the two drawer with 2 screws (left/right). The board is behind, the cable which melted in my case was a grey one connected to a black one.

How to wire a toggle switch for non working horn

My suggestion ask that mechanic to do it for you on the side maybe and see how much he would charge if you don't know anything much about going under the hood that would be best, if not here goes. First find the horn make sure you can get to it there should be a connector or plug on it should being the key word. Find it and remove it, you will need a wire long enough to run from the horn around and through some place in the firewall next to the wall between the engine and inside and back out to the battery so make sure its long enough to do that as well make sure the wire is 2 different colors inside sometimes they come copper on one side and silver color on the other or you can find black and red coated wires an 18 gauge speaker wire should work 15 to 20 ft should be plenty tape the ends of the wires with 8 inches excess hanging to the battery one end and the other to the horn not connected just so it holds the wire while you run it to inside the car string the wire around under the hood so its not all over the engine but around it and not on anything that gets hot to melt it. Make sure you know when you run it inside which side of the bend (you will have to bend it to get it inside the cab) make sure you know which side was going to the battery and which to the horn when you have the wire inside the car cut the wire on the copper side or the red side but dont cut the black shave back the plastic on the cut wire so you can get to the bare wire on the toggle switch any kind with 2 connectors on it is ok or you can also get a push button kind so it works like the horn find the positive connector on it and negative connector, connect the side of the red/copper wire that is going to the battery to the positive side if it has no positive or neg it doesn't matter either side then. Now connect the other side of the spliced wire to the negative or other side of the switch. once this is done under the hood look for positive and negative on the horn strip wire ends so you can get to bare wire connect the red/copper to the pos. and black/silver to the neg. You can use connectors for this or you can twist the wires around the connectors like a twist tie and tape with black electrical tape not clear tape. then on the battery put the red to pos. and black to neg. I would splice off enough plastic coating to wrap wire around battery terminal connector not the post make sure you connect the pos. last and don't touch the neg wire to anything else. then test the horn if it is working unhook the pos. side of the wire on the battery until you get ready for inspection and when done remove this so you don't have battery drain or other problems. Good luck

I want to replace the cord/plug is it easy?

Malibu power packs are 1-piece units that can't be taken apart.
However you can cut off the cord and leave about 4-6" of cord sticking out, and then splice into the cord that's sticking out.

Usually I buy heavy orange or black extension cord with male-female plugs on each end.
I cut off female end and use that end to splice into the cord that's sticking out.

How to splice wire.
Use knife and slice down the cord lengthwise... just cut through the outer plastic covering.
Pull the outer cover cover back to reveal black and white wires.
Cut off extra cover.
Cut back insulation on each black and white wire.
Now you have 2 black wires and 2 white wires/
Twist together the copper wire on whites and cover with plastic electrician tape.
Do the same with copper wires on blacks.
Now the blacks are joined/ and whites are joined, and each has tape over copper wire.
Wrap black tape around both sets of wires until all the black and white is covered with several wraps of tape.
That's it. Plug it in.

I have a 1989 Toyota Camry and am having difficulty with driver seat belt activation. What sensor or component tells the seatbelt to activate? Where is it located?

I have a 1990 camry and my driver side belt stopped working too. The problem is the wires that run from the door to inside the vehicle. Open your door, look in the doorjam for the black rubber piece. The wires inside it bend every time you open and close your door and eventually break. The only solution is to cut the rubber and resplice the wires which is a big pain in the ***. It took me a few frustrating hours, but, I heard it's easier if you take the door off. I left a lengthy amount of wire, wrapped in electrical tape, behind the front quarter panel to prevent it from bending again. This is a very common problem with camrys of these years.

When you repair the wires, be sure to wrap the wire harness is plastic like the type you would find in Safeway produce section.  This will keep the wire harness from getting melted on to the black insulation and creating this problem again.

2004 audi a4 cabrio radio problem

The aerial is in the boot lid. A wire runs down through a thick corrugated tube. Many bends over time fatigue and break the wire. I simply found the break and repaired the wire , coax wire, repositioned the wire fine! Audi do a replacement around £100 that goes all th way to the radio!

NB handle in boot lining has a hidden screw that must be removed to pop off lining.

Sounds familiar - I pulled the rubber boot back and found the black wire was broken. I stripped the wires and put on a couple bullet connectors (terminators) and all is good. Just wish I would have seen this post before I took the door panel off... Oh well...
