Question about Dometic Rooftop RV Air Conditioner

1 Answer

Dometic roof top rv airconditioner is not pulling any water out of the air based on condensate run-off. Is this a sign of low coolant? If so - are these types of air conditioners equiped to be re-charged or is it a system change out?

The system is not equipped to be recharged. However there are several options to add a service port to the system. If you are staying cool there is probably no need to add refrigerant.

Where are the condensing water drains?on a Coleman RV rooftop air conditioner

The condenser drains for a roof unit drain on top of the rv. There are on hoses which divert the condensation to a location other than the roof. Are you trying to keep it from dripping down at the door?

Water pours into my ceiling and out the vents even when on low cool

Have you noticed a reduction in water/condensation running across and off your roof? Most likely have plugged drain holes on upper (roof) unit. You'll have to remove cover and look for blockages at drains for evaporator ( front) which has a drip pan under it.

I have a jayco pop up camper with a Duo-Therm BriskAir roof top a/c. im having problem with it leaking water inside of the camper? Is there a drain hose? Or wat do u think is wrong? Thanks

Yes there are drain holes in base of upper unit (on roof), which may be plugged. Couple of questions though to see if we can better troubleshoot this for you.
-Do you remember seeing water (condensation) running off roof before when AC was used?
-Have you cleaned filter inside at ceiling lately?

Water leaks from the roof unit

This is condensate (which of course is water) that is coming from your unit. This is very normal ... Is it leaking inside or running across the roof and down the side of your unit? If it is going inside, there is a drain in your roof unit that is clogged. You must clear the clog. Remove the cover and inspect the base. Turn the unit off first.

When set at coojest setting, water begins to pool on roof of my motor home

It is normal for water to come out of your unit. On some units there is a drain line if you take the top off of the unit you will see the line hooked to the condenser side (cold) of the unit. But most units just let water run out on the roof and run off. Your unit may have settled or if you have applied a sealant on your roof you may have changed the flow of the discharged water. The water is moisture that condenses from the air inside your rv. This should not cause you any problems unless you have a leak in your roof.

I have a Dometic RV airconditioner roof mounted, the model number shown on a tag inside the unit says it is Model CAL 136.312 Product Number 991650423, I cannot find this model in the Dometic catalogue is...

Your probably looking at the control module number or something in that area. When you have the ceiling assy off as in cleaning filters, look for a sticker directly on the base of the roof unit. Look all around on that base, even behind wiring harness, you should find a model number and serial number.

My roof top RV air conditioner is dripping water inside my RV

Check run-of on roof & see if it's been reduced lately, it may just be a plugged drain at base of unit on roof.
