Question about Frigidaire GLEF396 Electric Kitchen Range
The oven comes up with a f1 fault when not being used. I can reset it and it is fine. Then all of a sudden. Maybe 3 days in the middle of the night the f1 fault goes off again. The electronic oven control card had already been replaced. The oven and burners work fine when being used. The fault f1 seems to come on when it is just sitting.
There are several sufix numbers after your model number so I just picked one, They are often the same as they usually keep the same wiring harness and circuitry through out many. Here's what I've found, Electronic control has detected a fault
condition. Press CLEAR/OFF to clear the display and stop the
beeping. Reprogram oven. If fault remains, record fault number.
Press CLEAR/OFF and contact a Service Professional. See:
or choose from your complete model number:

If you get a F1 this means Circuit board is defective.
And you need to Check or replace: the control board.
This is a job for service to be sure before you buy the control board!

Without a model number I can not be as specific as I would like. F-1 means a bad control board and or a bad key control. Most ranges have the key control made as part of the main control board. Some(possibly yours) has a key pad connected by a ribbon to the main control board.Unplug the range. Remove the control console cover to access the oven control. If it connects to the keypad by a ribbon, disconnect the ribbon and plug the range back in to power. Wait up to 1 hour. If you get no beeps and no error, replace the keypad control. If you do get beeps and or a error, replace the main control board. If you do not have a ribbon connector to the keypad you must replace the control board.
