You have a short to ground could be the compressor shorting to ground you turn the power off and unplug the compressor terminals but flage how they came off, You can ohm from one post to the other and you should have a reading not infinity. If it not that check for loose wires or a bad capacitor.

Coleman mach rv ac unit tripping breaker

If it trips the circuit breaker as soon as you turn the FAN on, suspect either a bad fan motor or a failed fan motor start capacitor. If you are able to turn the fan on but the circuit breaker trips as soon as the COMPRESSOR starts, it is possible that the compressor is seized.
If, on the other hand, the unit is tripping a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) breaker or GFCI utility outlet, it is possible that neutral and hot are reversed at the outlet into which the trailer is plugged (happened to me this year at an RV park).

Breaker trips on unit. Fuse in house is ok. As soon as AC unit turns on it trips the breaker outside next to unit.

you have a 'direct short' - most likely the compressor or fan motor.
you could isolate it to one or the other by (be sure all power is off) disconnecting one of them and turning the unit back on.
For example if the fan motor is shorted and you disconnect it - the breaker will hold and not trip and the compressor will come on - which will tell you that you need to replace the fan motor.
If you do this and it still trips the breaker then reconnect the fan motor and disconnect the compressor and try that.
If the breaker holds and the fan motor runs then you know the compressor is shorted.
Note: the fan motor can be replaced with not a lot of trouble depending on how mechanically inclined you are - but the compressor will take a qualified serviceperson.

Compressor starts innitially, then when pressure gets low it trips breaker when it tries to start back up.20 amp breaker to light switch to compressor is about 2o ft on12-2 wire. tried 30 amp breaker,does...

the start capacitor on the motor body is weak, the motor needs this component to over come the air pressure when cycling to re-build the low air pressure, change both the start and run capacitors when doing the start because the other run capacitor is just as old and it will soon fail

Air conditioner shuts off and trips breaker on power cord

It sounds like a short or ground in the compressor. If you have an ohmmeter, unplug the unit and use the meter to check the wires to the compressor. Connect 1 meter lead to the compressor case then to the wires coming from the compressor 1 at a time. If none are grounded then connect 1 meter lead to the Com. Then connect the other lead first to the run wire, then to the start wire reading the resistance each time. neither should be less than 1. You can also check the condenser fan.

AC Kicking OFF Breaker

Sounds like you have a problem with your compressor. If the beaker trips the second the compressor tries to come on hen it is shorted. If it takes a couple of seconds, then your compressor is locked up.

Breaker switch tripped when ac compressor engaged

The power strip is rated too low for the wattage of the unit and that causes the breaker to trip. I would be better for the unit if it were plugged directly into a wall outlet, because there is less a chance of voltage drop which would burn out the unit. They will only tolerate 10% voltage drop before getting into trouble.
