first of tell me is it a TFT or LCD. the LCD life is not more then 5 years. if it is tft then check the back panel of ur TFT, the high voltage flyback capacitor or boost capictor is loosing power.

Your power/inverter board is in need of an overhaul.
The capacitors are failing and possibly a transistor.
If the screen showed any redness or pink whebn it was working, Then there is a slight chance that one or more of the 4 lightbulbs in the screen was going bad and finally went.
If you take it apart and send me a picture, I may be able to tell by looking at it.
I repair these boards on ebay

First, verify the monitor is functional.
Monitor STFC (Self Test Feature Check)
Turn off the monitor
Plug the monitor power cord directly into the wall socket to remove any surge protectors or APCs from the troubleshooting equation
Unplug the monitor video cable from the back of the computer
Turn on the monitor
The floating dialog box should appear on screen against a black background.
If the issue appears during the STFC, the monitor is defective. What are the results please?

SOURCE: I used my computer earlier
your moniter/lcd is ok you need following steps to solve your problem
1.there should be frequency problem.lcds are not compatible with 75hz or greater. you have to change it from resolution advance setting (using your friends moniter or your another moniter) set it to 60hz then check your problematic lcd.moniter is recomended for this testing because it capable of 75 to120hz.
2.if first step not solve your problem then check rams , cable and vgais proper connected with motherboard.(pc is keep stuck if some thing rong with ram, hhd, cd-rom and pci cards).
hope your problem is solved with these steps.
