I have a Stylus Photo

I have a Stylus Photo 2200 operating on a Mac. It has been unplugged for awhile, and in the meantime we installed Leopard 10.5.2. After plugging it in today, I reinstalled the software and downloaded the "Easy Print" driver. The printer will not print -- gives message "printer is out of paper or not loaded properly." Everything seems to be properly done -- paper seems to be loaded properly.
I also get an error message when I try to check the ink levels -- "a communications error. Check connections --etc etc. " Yet everything is set up properly and I cleaned the print heads. I could print out the test strips for that. Yet I can't print anything else.
HELP!!
