Question about Oster Kitchen Appliances - Others
The paddle (driveshaft)in the bread pan of my Oster Bread Maker Model 5821 suddenly froze up, after about 10 years of infrequent use. No amount of trying will move it.
The shaft assembly is revited into the pan and there doesn't seem to be any way to disassemble it.
In addition to trying to move it by various means, I also applied WD-40 to encourage the thing to unfreeze, but nothing worked.
Other than buying a new bread pan, does anyone have an idea to solve my problem, please?
That shaft fits into a sealed bearing that is riveted to the bottom of the pan. When that seal freezes there is no way to free it up. The lubrication in the sealed bearing gets hard, especially if it's not used much..You may try putting hot water in the pan and soaking it but other than that the pan will need replacement. Sorry...Hank
