Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

You can try CAREFULLY wiggling the lense about. If it works, fine. If it doesn't, you have to take the camera to a repair shop.

Remember to ask for a cost before you give the work order - it might be cheaper to buy a new one.

the only mode that you have is fix it alone. you can find on ebay international seller the lens bloc for your camera. a complete lens bloc without ccd can you find from 20 - at-35 euro. mant international usa seller if you buy the lens give you a guide to instal the bloc. but it s not easy if you dont have any eletronic knowledge. but in the live if you dont proove you cant are shure that this is not possible. if you proove you have any possibility. but i want say you this is not so symply how the guide want say to you. the eletronic connection flats have little arrest to hold the flats. if you brocken one arrest ore if you dont insert the connection flat exactly it s possible to keep in the trusch camera and lens. if you was in italy i can make you this job with cheaper price but you are not here. by paolo

When turn on nothing shows in the sreen

The LCD may be broken. Does the lens extend, and does the camera take pictures? If so, the LCD lens probably got bumped and broken. Other possibility is that the shutter isn't opening. I called a local camera shop one time about this problem, and they wanted $125 to fix it, so I fixed it myself, getting a used camera like it off ebay and swapping it out. If you don't change it yourself, I'd recommend just buying a new one. A 10.1 mp camera goes on sale these days for $69, which is usually cheaper than having them repaired.

My son dropped my Nikon D40x, cracking a piece of the lens inside. It seem like a clean break; how can I fix it?

First, try it. If it still works, you're in luck. If not, well !!! Once a lens is broken, there isn't much that you can do, except replace it. Camera lenses are compound lenses, except on the smaller cameras. Compound lenses are stacked and glued sets of lenses, with specific distances between sets. If it is an expensive lens, get an estimete for a repair price. It might be cheaper to just replace it.

The camera can be fixed. The lens and any other parts will have to be replaced.

You should first get an estimate for service. It may be cheaper and better to replace the camera.

Dropped Camera - Lens won't close

Generally speaking if your camera cost $500 or less, and you can't fix it yourself, it is cheaper to just buy a new one.
