The operating system is usually located on the C: Drive. It can go anywhere..BUT.. most software will try to install in "C: program files".
So if you change the location on installation to somewhere other than C:, you may run into problems.
Main storage and primary storage are same thing.
Modern pc's cant run an OS off a floppy, but you can run a LIVE distribution of linux from your disc drive

If this is not what you where asking please feel free to clarify your request

My TEAC FD-05PUB is recognized by my computer. However, it will not open a floppy disk. It says the disk needs to be formatted (even thought the disk works fine on other computers with the same operating...

Try a brand new disk put something on it and go from there the disk you may be using may be no good anymore. Try this first before getting another replacement disk I would stop using these floppy and go to a USB Stick for storage purposes since they are going obsolete. Just a suggestion! That would solve your problem using floppies for storage besides they do not hold much information compared to todays storage devices. John

Problem

Try removing the software for the printer again and disconnect the USB cable from the computer. Reinstall the software and after its finished reinstalling, reconnect the USB cable to computer. Many USB printers require you to install the software first without the printer connected to the computer.

Steps for solution
