Hi, not sure what you meen here i.e completely reinstall or repair? But here is to reinstall, let me know if you wish to repair! Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 st1\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) } /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} To install new version of XP. Insert XP CD into drive, reboot pc pressing ESC button, or delete in some machines. This takes you into BIOS, change your primary boot device to CDrom, save changes and reboot. Select boot from CD once this appears and wait for files to be installed. Select the part of the hard drive you wish to use for your operating system (usually the largest) and select partition this drive. Delete any previous os, and reformat hard drive. (Be aware this removes everything saved on your hard drive, so always back up first) Re boot afterwards and reinstall operating system.
Hope this helps

Partion of c and d for a 100 gb dell inspiron recomended portion

Why not just use the totals disk as one big partition? It's much easier and most times people fill up the c partition while the d partition sits there empty.

It would serve you better to have one big contiguous partition.

HP recovery partition wiped, and unrecoverable, ..............need an image reload it, once reloaded not sure if it is recognized by bios.

If you didn't make a set of recovery dvd's or cd's when you first bought your machine, then you can purchase a set by going to the HP site with your serial number, model, etc.

Presario laptop runs extremely slow. Have run

IF it is HP PC than you can simply go ahead a reload the factory settings in the OS from the Recovery partition without the help of the CDs. Every HP pc have a separate partition where the image of the entire OS is loaded. you can simply go ahead and reload it from that partition. Just follow the following steps-
1. Turn off of the pc completely.
2. Disconnect all the external devices and the internet connection.
3. As soon as you turn on the pc start tabbing the F11 key( for Windows Vista).
4. It will take you to the recovery manager and from there you can just follow the onscreen instructions.

Laptop wont boot...it wont load past the very first boot screen where it asks you to hit f12 for boot menu and f2 for system utilities it have the windows vista OS...is there a problem with the hard drive?...

Windows is corrupt...reload Win OS....if possible re-install Windows in a different partition say D: or E: etc (if u have more than 1 partition) and then once done let it boot from that and let Win load....take a full backup of all of your critical data to a USB pen drive....then reload Win CD in the Cd drive, switch off and switch on PC let it boot from CD and delete all partition on HD, format the disk fully and repartition the disk and load Win in C:
pls leave a feedback

I cant format my usb

Try this, It might work:

i)Try to put Pen Drive or USB in usb port and insert an Windows XP CD and try restarting start and i think u the know procedure of formating Window XP or reload OS(let me say that i'm not formating or reloading OS on ur system, there is small procedure over there after that u can use system normally....)

ii) when u reach a blue screen that show all the partitions of ur system (like C: D: E:  ....), observe it will also show ur usb partition(mention memory....) separately,,, try to use this  option :

Delete Partition by pressing D(usb partition being highlighted...) and then follow instruction .....and now  u will see that there is no partition letter(such as D, E , F) assinged to ur usb

Now Create an partition on that by pressing C ... this will create an partition and it will retain or give  name or lettering to it(such as D, E, F)

after this donot continue format the system, just exit from by pressing ESC button .... and ur system will start normally, ...observer usb now u will be able format.... from now..

Thanking you,

M. Sridhar.
