I can't clear a virus, Can i clean it in Safe mode? and which software?

Download Microsoft Security Essentials from the microsoft web site. This will enable you to get rid of most viruses. For more comprehensive protection you can try AVG antivirus from free.grisoft.com.

Something goes through my address book and sends junk mail to eeveryone in my address book and it comes up with my name and e-mail address on it

There is no easy answer for this problem. You've downloaded malware that has highjacked your email address book. Your email provider will not be able to help. The best thing you can do is close the email account and start with a new one. Make sure to save your current address book so that you can reestablish it in your new email account. You need to make sure that you have a good virus/malware program running to detect unwanted access to your computer and applications.
If you need some recommendations on virus/malware detection software, let me know.
Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks.

Got a virus - cleaned it out- computer would then only connect to internet in safe mode with networking but now won't connect at all

hi, try this

The suspicion of possible errors in system files in Windows, it may be worth a try to run the "hidden" program that comes with just Windows.
System allows an administrator to scan all protected files to verify their versions.

If System File Checker discovers that a protected file has been overwritten, it retrieves the correct version from the cache folder (% Systemroot% \ System32 \ Dllcache) or source files for Windows installation, and replaces the incorrect file.

System File Checker also checks and filling up the cache folder. You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group to run System File Checker.

If the cache folder becomes damaged or unusable, you can use the sfc / scannow, sfc / Scanonce or sfc / scan boot to repair its contents.

To use SFC:

1) Press Start
2) Select Run ...
3) Enter: sfc / scannow and press OK
(Remember that there should be space after sfc)

More info about the System
Sfc [/ Scannow] [/ Scanonce] [/ Scan Boot] [/ Revert] [/ Purgecache] [/ Cache Size = x]

• / Scannow: Scans all protected system files immediately and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions. This command may require access to source files for Windows installation.

• / Scanonce: Scans all protected system files once when you start the computer. This command may require access to source files for Windows installation when you start the computer. SfcScan DWORD value 2 in the following registry key when you run this command:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon

• / Boot Scan: Scans all protected system files every time you start your computer. This command may require access to source files for Windows installation every time you start your computer. SfcScan DWORD value of 1 in the following registry key when you run this command:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon

• / Revert: Restoring default scan setting (not scan protected files when you start your computer). The default cache size is not reset when you run this command. This command is equivalent to the / Enable switch in Windows 2000.

• / Purgecache: Purges the file cache and scans all protected system files immediately. This command may require access to source files for Windows installation.

• / Cache Size = x: Sets the file cache size to x megabytes (MB). Default cache size is 50 MB. This command requires that you restart the computer, and then run the command / purgecache to adjust the size of the cache on the disk. This command provides SfcQuota DWORD value of x in the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon

just get into safe mode by pressing f8 , then click the command prompt from the start menu or if you dont get the start menu press ctrl+alt+del key to get the task manager and go to file and click new task run the command prompt from there. Then in the command prompt type sfc scannow it will ask for the win xp cd for xp and for vista or 7 it automatically scans and fixes the system file errors.Let me know if still the errors are there.

I start the internet and I get redirected

There is a malicious software application called the Google redirect virus. If your system is affected with this resident virus, you will be redirected most of the time. Each time you click on a favorite to reach a website, you get IE8 redirect problems - due to the Google redirect virus. I recommend a scan to know if your IE8 redirect problem is attributed to the Google redirect virus.
Not all antivirus applications can detect it. You may use Microsoft Security Essentials for regular use (it takes care of several specific types of spyware) or if you wish to go for a one time scan, you can use MS AV online scan. Once you have completed the scan and have found and removed the virus, I recommend you use the best maintenance software for Windows to avoid the problems in future.
IMPORTANT: Please clean your computer for temporary Internet files and cookies prior to running the online AV scan as they may interfere with the scan process.

If you can browse normally, it means the problem is some add-on. Start IE8 normally and disable all add-ons (Tools → Manage Add-ons). Enable them one by one to isolate the add-on that's creating the problem. You can disable or remove that add-on to prevent future IE redirects.
If you still get redirect problems, I recommend you uninstall the Internet Explorer 8 and download the "Internet Explorer Optimized for Google". This optimized version gives fewer troubles that include eliminating most IE8 redirect problems too.

Hello, I am experienceing difficulties with my PC. I can't access to any folders and cant open the start menu.

You might have a Virus. In the case of a Virus infection I would most likely disconnect the Hard drive from the machine, scan it on another machine ( using AVG7 + AVGAS = AVG Antivirus and AVG Anti Spyware Scan) remembering to turn off system restore while scanning on the drive.

If you have successfully found and removed the virus infection, remember to delete your system volume information and recycler folder on the drive. virus files tend to infect these folders.

When you plug in your HDD into your machine again, you might want to do a Windows repair; to fix the issues that the virus has caused OR use a registry repair tool to repair registry items. Another option would be to create a new user name. The settings in that new accound should be working fine and you should be able to access the start menu and your folders again.
