14.1VDC going into inverter but no ACV coming out. Red fault light is on. Disconnected fan motor and checked with meter and shows open even on high ohm scale.Are Xantrex fan motors known to go bad?If the fan is bad could there be something else wrong in the inverter that caused the fan to go bad? thanks for your help. If you don't have enough current to run the inverter, even at 14.1 v, it will go into protection. Make sure the wiring is heavy enough to provide the current needed to run the inverter. There should be a label on the fan saying what vosges it needs to run. Try powering up the fan outside the inverter.

My breaker is showing 117 volts coming out of it but my light switch has only 3volts ???

You're not reading the light switch correctly, Charles. You may have your meter set to DCV instead of ACV, or you might be reading from hot to some ungrounded, non-neutral wire, or you may be reading through some high-resistance or solid-state load.

117VAC is perfectly satisfactory. Nominal is 120V, but anything from about 110 to about 130 is fine.

It sounds like your inverter is at fault. You will need an inverter tester ( most good service techs will have one ) to prove that the output to the compressor is correct. If the inverter is okay then it will be the compressor at fault with a location error or it is simply seized. A common fault that caused this was the eev remained closed (coil failure ) and caused the compressor to over heat.

Fujitsu inverter; opens vents but no red light, no cold air

check that it is set to cooling sounds like it may be set to heat in cooling mode the indoor fan should at least run

Red fault light comes on after about 10 mins and

Had a similar problem with the same inverter BUT to include a failing cooling fan.

Take it back and get your money back as soon as possible.

Replaced it with a pure sine inverter 1500 watt that is kicking **** 24 seven days a week on my solar / wind power system.

Hope this tip helps.

My fan on the unit (38CKS UNIT) is not turning?

Problems with the fan are one of several things to consider.
1. Is their power to the fan motor.
2. Does the capacitor for the fan hold a charge and/or discharge (There are metering devices that can identify the condition).
3. Are the fuses blown (If Applicable)
4. Is the breaker to the condenser tripped.
5. Are the windings on the motor closed or open.
6. Are the winding (when using an Ohm Meter, Check the resistance from ground to one of the lead wires, making sure power is disconnected and all leads are disconnected from the terminal points. There will be high resistance if there is not a short from the windings to the frame ground.

These are simple checks I make to determine the motors condition. Sometimes a wire does come loose or cut or even burned. I trace the wire from point A to B and also making sure the wire terminal connections are tight.

Kenmore side by side

You need to elaborate more. If it's just the light quit working, then check the bulb first, if it's good then use a meter to check if you are getting power to the socket (red lead to middle contact, black one to the metal ring) check with meter on ACV at setting 200 or so and it should read 110-121V. If that's good then keep backtracing until you find the problem.

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.

For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.

Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:

12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
