Question about Logitech Harmony 550 Remote Control
The remote usually enters Safe Mode when the battery is removed and reinstalling the battery while holding the Power button - My guess is that this started when you were replacing the batteries or there may be a corruption.
To get out of it, do a firmware update from your PC. This will install the latest firmware and your configuration. Safe mode is a bootstrap designed to recover from firmware corruption issues so about the only thing it knows how to do is reload firmware.
