Question about Fedders A6K32E7B K Chassis Room Air Conditioner w/ 32,000 Cooling BTUs & Electronic Controls
Have a fedders 32k btu air conditioner that cools for 3 minutes and stops cooling for 10 minutes (continuous cycle). Have replaced control panel and capacitor. all other outside parts appear to be working. What else can be tested?
If your A/C stop cooling check the follwing.
Check your filter. This is paramount as a dirty air filter will restrict air flow and limit the efficiency of the condenser to cool the air. Typically it is recommended that the air filter be changed every month but there are some on the market today that require three month replacement.
Make sure the exhaust vents in all the rooms are open and free from debris. If your duct system is in the ceiling make sure they are fully open. If the system exhausts through the floor make sure they are fully open and not covered by shoes, clothing, furniture and/or household items.
The outside unit should be free of any obstructions or debris as this will reduce the amount of air passing through the condenser.
