Question about Oregon Scientific TP329 Two Way Radio

1 Answer

Channel scanning fucntion won't work on my new Oregon Scientific TP329 Two Way Radio. Keeps scanning without finding a valid signal. The radio works when I set the channel randomly but so far I can't find a channel which is reliable over over even 500 metres. Oregeon suggested I remove batteries and leave powered off for a few hours, but makes no difference. Please advise. Thanks. Sean.

Many tnx. So this shows me how to scan the channel on one set to the same channel on other set - correct ? If so, your advice automates what I was already doing manually (which is good :-). Now the question is, how do I find the channel with the best signal. Is this by trial and error and will it depend on conditions in each locality I use the transmitters?

Make sure there is a transmitter "on" somewhere along the way, otherwise it would not stop scanning. Try keeping the PTT pushed on the other set whilst you scan.

Did not find it in the manual either. They suggest taking the batteries out. Try that, but leave them out for 30 seconds. Post if you need more.

I have a scientific radio controlled clock - modelRM913TCN and I don't have a clue how to set it

Your device can set the clock automatically by means of receiving radio signal for synchronization.
But if you want to know it I give you this link from where the complete user guide can be download for free:

http://www.cintelcorp.net/oregon-scientific-rm913tcn-radio-controlled-clock-with-backlight-manual

Using this link you have to wait a little bit and copy a security code then you can start downloading.
Good luck.
Thanks.

My raodio stoped working how can i see if my service has ran out

You can call toll free 1-800-XM Radio (1-800-967-2346) and ask them the status of your current membership. You will have to tell them the "model number" of your XM Radio, plus the "Radio ID Number" which should be stamped on the bottom of your radio, or can be found on radio channel 0 (Zero). If your membership is expired or cancelled, then it is up to you to re-subscribe.

If you are a valid subscriber, then tune the radio to Channel One, and see if you can get talking and/or music on that channel. If you do NOT receive Channel One, then you have an internal problem with your radio, not your subscribership.

Turn the radio off, wait 5 seconds, then turn on the radio. Watch the screen carefully... It should say, XM Satellite Radio, then the Channel Number, then "Loading", and then you should get sound or music. If you get "NO SIGNAL", then you have an Antenna or internal circuitry problem. Find someone who also has an XM Radio, test your radio by plugging in your Radio into their Antenna, and see if it makes a difference. If still "NO SIGNAL", then you are screwed.

Decide if you want to replace the radio with a new one, or go without.

Good Luck...

Oregon Scientific Radio controlled Thermo Clock RMR382A -

Check the channel mode that you are in. I play with the channel /memory buttons on mine and I finally get it to work. Sometimes it worksfor weeks sometimes just a day. Just glad I can get it to work - thought it was the remote unit but I was wrong.
