When you reinstall your operating system (pre windows 7) you must also reinstall hardware drivers. This can be done a couple of different ways, as the other solution mentions they often come with your computer on a CD. Another quick solution to try is Windows Update. While this does not always work, it is a quick fix that will save you a hassle.
Open Internet Explorer and browse to www.update.microsoft.com
Install all recommended updates. This may take a couple of rounds of updates as there are many updates that update older updates...lots of restarting and doing this process over again.
Let me know if this doesn't work, good luck!

Its just because the drivers were not loaded install the sound drivers from the CD that came with the PC or if using a sound card other then the inbuilt one then the CD which came with the card will have the drivers!!

Sound didnt come out when i play music or movie

If you are using windows OS, most probably your Media Player is not support playing the Audio/Video formats, you are playing.

You can download & install the codec latest version for your PC/Laptop "K-Lite Codec Pack or K-Lite Mega Codec Pack" from http://www.free-codecs.com/download/k_lite_codec_pack.htm which will play most of the Audio/Video format.

You can also install the free VLC media Player too.

Hope it helps.
