Red your manual. There are TWO tanks to empty. Facing the unit there is a tank on the right side to empty. After BOTH tanks are empty, start the unit. The red light will be off and the Air Conditioner will work.

What does it mean when it says bucket full?

These condition units come with an internal removable bucket to catch the water from the condenser unit..and will shut off when full..must be emptied...should be on the bottom and hold about two gallons or so..should be easy to find..good luck.

Air conditioner wont work

When the STOP indicator light turns on, the internal water tank has filled with condensed water and the air conditioner will turn off automatically. You can drain the internal water tank by removing the plug on the back of the unit, be ready for a lot of water to come out of the unit. The unit will shut down when the water pan is full. This condition may occur either when the unit is operated in high humidity conditions, or when the unit is being operated in HEATMODE, since the auto-evaporation function will not work in the heating mode. I hope this helps, have a great day, Andy K.

There is a funny smell coming from the unit when we use the air conditioning and when we took the face off, we noticed standing water in the pan. Is there any way to drain this?

There shuld always be a bit of water in ther and it is normal. . you can wah it out with some warm soapy water . you can also mix some warm soapy water and a spray bottle an wash down the indoor coil. wash the filter out with warm soapy well. let me know but this shuld help.. just to let you know there are some units that had coils that kind of reacted to the produces use in side for consrtuction .. it is really called the dirty sock phonoma. (sp) it casue by a reaction to the coils in the unit I have net seen it for few years now. There are some remedies if you want to take the tiem. there are now what I call real solutions except a new unit .. Hope this helps and ejoy your day

Remove the water tank and look or feel up to where the float is at and see if it is stuck in the raised position. This is what is keeping the light on and not letting the compressor start.

Evapoative air conditioning

sounds like the flaot switch is stuck in the up position. this will be like the drain pan is always full of water. You may need to take the unit apart and check the flaot in order to reapir this problem.
