Question about Computers & Internet

The fast, sure way to to put what you want to keep on a flash drive, cd, etc and then just do a FRESH INSTALL of your Operating System. You want the HDD reformatted, etc. This way the OS is like it was on Day One. If your try to piece it all together and weed stuff out of the folders and the registry, then you'll always have critters acting up. Regarding software and all, manufacturers USED TO give us actual installation CDs. Now they partition the HDD and have a System Restore utility built in so that you can reset the machine to like it was out of the box. This will include their usually crappy programs plus all of those trial and demo packages. My Acer - I just got a new, smaller HDD and had Vista ONLY reinstalled. None of that Acer stuff this time around.
