Excessive fan noise at start up

Packard bell desk top compact 6 mths old and it makes an incredably loud fan noise at start up for 20 secs. Also lead with 1 second of slight grating sound.
Curry's said full fan and really loud noise is normal at start up but I sneakilly shut down a simuar model on display and restarted. With my ear press firmly against the fan unit I heard a tenth of what I get maybe less!
Feeling a bit helpless.

Packard bell hera gl fan making loud noise

It may just need cleaning. If you feel confident taking it apart you can usually find info for disassembling on the internet, then check the fan for a build up of dust and give the insides a really good clean out. It's best to use compressed air.

Replacing the heatsink, will it stop it from shuting down? if i use desk top fan blowing onto the inside its ok and works. i also have had blue screen come on

YES! The dissipation of heat is crucial. Thus making a heat sink / fan indispensable. That is most certainly the cause of the blue screen.

Furthermore, expect the system to fry in the near future without a working fan.

HI THERE MY PACKARD BELL 2215 IMEDIA WILL NOT BOOT UP. iT WAS WORKING PERFECTLY THEN IT CRASHED NOW IT STARTS, FANS SOUND, BUT THEN IT SWITCHES OFF, ANYONE HELP? X

Sounds like an overheating problem. Clean the dust out of it, make sure it can get air on all sides, make sure the fans are turning. If that doesn't work, unplug the computer, hit the power button 20 times, wait 1/2 hour and boot it up.

does the noise start as soon as you turn the fan oven on?
does the noise stop as you turn off?
just depending what make and model you have there is two fans
in it 1 is the fan motor inside oven at back and other
is the cooling fan which is at top of oven .you just need
to find out which one it is and just replace . then should be back to normal
