INdex.dat causing bail-out of HDD Back-up

posted by Georgieboy01 on Apr 19, 2008

I am trying to take a back-up of my HDD using a Freecom 120BG External Hard Disk Drive. Model number: FHD-2 Pro.
When the device finds a index.dat file it stops updating my files on my external hard drive. Is there any way I can get around this problem?

Index.dat is not required, simply do not include it in your backup..windows will recreate the file automatically. It is created by the file indexing service for faster searches, etc.
