The blinking blue light on my JVC DR-M10 will not stop and disabe

The problem with these units is the filter capacitors in the power supply. They should be removed and replaced with 25 v.dc capacitors...total cost for the capacitors £5. If you don't fancy doing the repair your self, perhaps you know of a good friend who can use a soldering iron!

The capacitors are 2200 micro farads radial mounting, 680 and 1200, all should be at least 25v dc working for a reliable recorder. The existing ones are prone to "leaking" and should never have been used...shame on you JVC!

Cooling fan stays on all night

You probably have set up one scart as being connected to 'sat' or sat controlled
(I cannot remember the exact setting)
If you do so, the recorder is controlled by the satreceiver, and is 'on' all the time.

Good luck (my DR M10 broke down yesterday - The drive does not recognise dvd-ram disks anymore :( )
