Question about Toshiba Satellite M45-S169 Notebook
I have windows XT on my laptop. I have to turn it on and off several times before it boots. Why is it behaving like this? How can I fix it.
Sounds like you may have lots of junk on your windows xp instalation, and too much is trying to load when you boot up.
Boot up into safe mode ( f8 when booting, choose safe mode with networking)
run your up to date anti virus software, if you dont have any try AVG9 free or Microsoft Security Suite, also free.
Run a good Malware scanner such as Malwarebytes, very good and also free.
finaly use a program like CC cleaner to remove all your **** and temp files, you can also use this to turn of all those unwanted programs loading when you boot up (in the tools option).
If you dont know what is safe to stop, just google each item and it should tell you if that item is needed.
As a bare minimum you just need your Antivirus and sound booting
