Question about Sony PlayStation 2 Slimline Console
PS2 (fatty Model) Simply stopped switching/powering on. Does not power on when plugged in even at dealers. No Power cord fuse on plug. Local SONY dealers say that since item is no longer under warranty they cannot replace unit. However they can offer a 50% rebate (approx. €70) off a PS2 slim model since and as long as warranty seal is still intact. If we try to get it opened and fixed anywhere else, the deal is no longer available. Slim unit will have a warranty period of 12 mths compared to teh standard legal 24 mth period!!!
Any idea what could have gone wrong and if it could be worth it to try risking fixing it? Once warranty seal is broken/damaged the rebate-replacement deal is off. Could it be the internal power supply unit or is there a power fuse before the psu that could have blown up perhaps?
any ideas welcome. thks
No! absolutely do NOT open the PS2. You will make a huge mistake especially since you dont know what to look for. Besided, if someone here tells you it is one thing, how do they know for sure? Just go with the Warranty.
