Check if you have an IP address for the computer Check if you can ping any website using Command prompt If it pings with command prompt, then try with a different browser If it not getting IP or not pinging the website then it is an issue with the network settings

Try this first:

In Internet Explorer

Go to Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN settings.

You most likely are not using a proxy server. Ensure your settings mirror the above, especially the "Use a proxy server..." setting.

Why does my computer keep saying Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage, and i have great wifi connection?

There is a typo in your homepage URL. Internet Explorer tries to display this non-existent page
every time you start up your browser.
Fix - jump through these GUI hoops, and type in your favorite URL (Universal Resource Locator).
Tools > Internet Options > General > Home page

I have an HP Laptop LAN connection will not connect to internet

The wireless modem you are connecting to is protected with a WEP key. You have to get the WEP key or find another wifi hotspot that is not protected.

You can also get a better antenna for your laptop to see if you can pull in another site.

My computer keeps saying ''webpage cannot be displayed''

Hello monkie_gurl2,

This usually happens when the browser cannot access the internet. Make sure your firewall settings allow the browser to access the internet. Also, make sure you are connecting to the internet ok by checking email. And internet explorer can help diagnose the problem by selecting the 'Tools' menu option and then selecting 'Diagnose Connection Problems...'. Finally, the internet explorer settings can be examined and changed by selecting the 'Tools' menu option and then selecting 'Internet Options'

I thank you for giving a rating to this solution if it has been helpful.

Have a great day,
