It sounds like 1 of your keys is stuck down or faulty.
turn off, turn the laptop upside down and GENTLY tap the keys, run your fingers over all of the keys and gently shake.
Lots of bits can get stuck under the keys and cause this type of problem, a can of air(air duster) works well also

I turned it off and restarted it again and it seems to be back to normal. Probably should have done that to start with!!! Well, I am a blond!! lol. Thanks for your help.

The keyboard was working fine and all of a sudden stopped making sounds. I must have pressed a button.

I've never heard of a keyboard making sounds. I have heard of key presses making sounds. In the control panel under keyboard there may be a setting. The setting may also be under sound or audio (depends on the operating system).

Good Day, I have not seen your keyboard before but I guess it should be a familiar one. Check if the function key(fn) is not pressed or check if the numlock key is not activated. Thanks for using Fixya.

Windows Key shuts down computer when pressed

Go to Start->Control Panel->Power Options. There you will find various options where you instruct the Windows to to do what on your actions. Also in Control Panel go to Keyboard option and tweak there. But you must tweak slowly , while noting down what you are doing, just in case you have to revert back.

My C Doesnt Work

What you need is a new keyboard. Remember--they are basically anelectronic part (in this case a pressure-sensitive part) and theysometimes fail.
You can get a replacement keyboard from Toshiba or use a place like National Parts Depot.
You can reach them at

Problem aspire 6930

you have a locked key. it may be anything from a liquid spill to forced. but that noise is telling you that a key is locked. try removing the keyboard and plugging in a usb keyboard. if you dont get a noise then you need to replace your existing keyboard or unjam the key causing the problem

Keyboard

Do you have a function key on your keyboard as this may have been pressed and therefore accessing shortcuts on your keyboard. The function key normally looks like this

Fn

Not sure but this may be your issue. Some function keys need to be held down and others will go on when pressed and stay on until they are pressed again.

Let me know if this helped
Cheers
