Arrange the screen the way you want it to appear in the print out. Press the "Print Screen" key on your keyboard.

  • 2 Open the "Start" menu and type "Paint" into the search box. Click on the MS Paint shortcut that appears. Any other image editing program will also work.

  • 3 Press the "Ctrl" and "V" keys to paste the screen shot into Paint. Click "OK" to enlarge the canvas. Press the "Ctrl" and "P" keys to print.
  • 4 Select the appropriate options from the Print window. Click the "Print" button.

I'm using lenovo g450 and i need to use printscreen but when i press PrntScrn I Don't know if it's ok or it's not working but nothing happens.. but if it's working i don't know where the file stored in...

If you press PRNTSCRN, nothing really happens. You need to paste it in paint in order to see the image. So you have to open Paint (located in Start/Programs/Accessories) and paste (CTRL+V) directly.

    Hope it helps.

    How to Print Screen

I am not very sure what exactly you did mean, but I would assume you want to know which button functions the Print Screen. Take a look at this:

The arrow is pointed to the Print Screen Key. Not all the keyboards have similar names, it could be "Prt Scr" or "Print Screen Sys Rq" etc..When you press the key i.e. Print Screen, anything that is shown/displayed on the screen of your monitor will be captured to the clipboard like you've copied something, but actually it's not in a defined format, you'll need a Photo editor like Paint or Photoshop or word processing program like Ms-Word etc.. Press the Print Screen key once, open "Paint" [if your system is Windows] or Photoshop or Ms-Word and Paste it [Press C+V on the keyboard so that it would be paste into he document of the program]. You'll see the captured screenshot of the desktop screen in the program, you can save it as JPG or GIF etc.. according to your needs or based on the format supported by the program you are doing this..

If you have problem, please let me know with more details.

    Good Luck.

    Thanks for using FixYa.

The print screen key doesn't actually print directly to your printer. It taks a screeshot of the the screen instead.

    Try this.
    1. Press the print screen key.
    2. Open up Ms Paint or Ms Word.
    3. Go to Edit and select Paste.
    4. Go to File and select Print.

now you can print it to your print.

Trying to use the Prtsc key on a Acer 3680 laptop. It is not working, can the PrtSc key be setup to print screens.

If you use SHIFT-PRTSC, Windows should save the current screen to the Clipboard. You can then Paste this into a program like MS Paint, PaintShopPro, etc., and print it from there.
