Plug mp3 player into usb port comp shuts down

When plugging Samsung YP-U3 in any USB port, the screen on MP3 player shows 'USB connecting', but after 10 seconds it shows 'Disconnected'. The charging facility is no problem, but the MP3 just cannot connect, and PC does not recognise the device. Hence I cannot upload any songs onto MP3.

I followed instructions on Guide which says not to use a USB hub, and plugged it straight into computer, but to no avail.

I used my sandisk sansa e2000 for many months and had no probem but now this appeared: when i connect it to the computer it says "connecting", "writing" then "disconnected"....

ditto on above. I suspect upgrades to software on my computer have caused the disconnect problem. Help pl0x?

My computer says the USB port connected to my mp3 is drawing too much power and has shut down the USB port. How do I get around this? I have a MacBook Pro.

It look that your player is drawing too much current from your Macbook Pro: it is rather unusual nowadays but does happen even with some USB external 2.5in drives!
Solutions:
1) Buy a USB Power Adapter Y cable that plugs into 2 usb ports on your Computer an thus allows double the current (shop around as they are expensive on Amazon but pretty cheap on Ebay)
2) Plug your player via a 'Powered' USB Hub that can provide higher current (from its 'own AC/DC power pack') to each USB port on the Hub

Hioe it helps!

Comp not recognizing mp3 device

Try a different usb port first, then try another computer (with a compatible OS, of course). If another computer will not recognize it, then the player is actually damaged.

Still messed up.

hi yes it should be in recovery mode when doing this
does the firmware tell you when to connect the mp3 player to computer once in recovery mode open firmware file then when it asks to connect then plug into your comp if it dont work this way then plug into comp before opening firmware file give this way a try also.
But the mp3 player needs to be in recovery mode whilst doing this

if this still dont work then try a different usb port failing this then their is a problem with either the cable or usb port or conection on mp3 check cable and connections at both ends make sure no dirt or paper is stuck in mp3 end ok

Let me know what happens ok

Worked first then boot error now comp wont pick it up

Hi, you can try to upgrade the player's firmware, you can download it from the RCA Website (moz-screenshot.jpgmoz-screenshot-1.jpghttp://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads.aspx?product=187), the firmware it's the second app listed.
If your computer doesn't recognize the player, you'll have to turn it off and keep "PLAY" pressed for 10 seconds while connecting it to the USB port, then update the firmware.

Usb connection

I had this problem a couple of times. Turned out the battery didn't have enough juice. At least that's what worked for me.
