Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

My Canon i250 is constantly throwing up the '5200' error message and the orange light flashes eight times, then on to green, then back to eight orange flashes. I have just done a through cleaning of all of the guts, including washing out and thoroughly drying the absorber pads and print head cleaner pads, but none of that that has made any difference. I have also followed the eight-step re-boot procedure given on this forum but that does not clear the error message or re-set the machine. I am now at a loss what to do other than bin the machine which I am reluctant to do because, although it is at least seven years old, I still have a buffer stock of cartridges! Any suggestions please? Just one final note, I had a bit of a tussle fixing back the print head cleaner assembly because I stupidly did not take a photo., or make a note about how the bits fit together. The main problem was remembering which of the two light tension springs goes where and how the small plastic lever device is reinstalled. Daft I know because it ain't that complex, but I would like to be sure it is back together as intended (which may be totally irrelevant if I can't fix the error message problem!).

I have a canon i250 which does not print. The orange light flashed 5 times and then goes back to green. Thanks for your help.

The orange light flashes 5 times indicates that the printhead is not there. Obviously it is (I hope). Turn the power off and remove and refit the head. If it still does not work then the head is most probably faulty and requires replacing.

Good luck.

Canon i250, black text won't print, but ok with nozzle check

Canon i250. Instructions on this website solved the problem of flashing green and orange lights, but now the black won't print. Changed ink cartridges, but still no print. Did a diagnostic nozzle check, and the black DID print. What do I do now?
