Let's look at this again. The OP stated VX610 "wireless" but what does that actually mean? Wireless indicates no wires- what kind of comms then? if it is "true" wireless, then it connects via cellular towers. You will need to get with your pmts provider to fix the cellular connection, or possibly the cell signal in that location is not strong enough, or if it is CDMA, it could need to be freshly OTA'd. There are several scenarios. You can see why conacting your pmts provider might indeed help. (If via WiFi, that's different in many ways, and there are some pretty good answers already posted)

I have a vx510 and had the same problem. A storm came through last night, and this morning when I ran the first card, I had the same TCP 1009 error. I always start with the simple solution first. I unplugged the ethernet and power lines, waited a few seconds, then plugged the ethernet line in, and then the power. It worked fine after that.

You would need a digital to analog converter. These can be bought almost anywhere. Another option is to ask your phone company to install a dedicated analog phone line for your credit card terminal. These are the only options or going with a IP terminal.

I think there might be a problem of DHCP (Dynamic host configuration protocol). Check your DHCP connection. You are getting network error message while you process credit card. A network error might prevent the DHCP client from sending messages to the DHCP server.

The Local DNS Server is unable to translate the IP location.solution: Change the "#HOSTIP" parameter field from 'opticard.optinc.com' to '66.179.134.151' and the "#PORT" parameter should remain '443'.

It is somewhat problematic to have a dial up terminal on a digital line. You will get as many opinions as the number of people you ask, but my recent experience with these situations is this: First, you should get with your digital phone service provider and make it clear to them that you are having trouble that did not occur before switching to them, and that they must assist in resolving the issue for it to be possible for them to retain your continued business. Tell them you require that line to be set up as "a fax line that holds the connection for an extended period" . 2 points-FAX line & EXTENDED PERIOD. I don't know what it is, but that's what we had to have done to ours to work. And it does-every day I download, test and verify dial up functionality on Hypercoms, Verifone Tranz and Vx---, FD---, Nurit, Dejavoo you name it. Every day. So-it can be done, but you have to get it set up correctly.

Troubleshooting any Verifone product by any third party company including Fixya.com doesn't provide any support for any error messages. It is a credit card machine and I'm sure for security reasons it was purposly done that way.

Verifone vx610

#1 You need the Vmac and Comserv applications that were deleted when you cleared memory in order to perform an IP download. Without them you can only perform a dial only download.
#2 The programming for your VX510 will not load in your VX610 because they doth identify to the server as different models. If you did get the vx610 to connect and request your vx510 file you would only recieve an error "Application not configured" or "file not found"

Pro Tip: You can still clone VX terminals reguardless of model with the correct cable. Enter system mode and press 0 the # or 0 then * to send and recieve. This would put the application from the vx510 into the vx610 but your vx610 may not work through a com method other than dial depending on your processor.

Verifone vx610 decline code 248

This is tricky to answer... different processing service use different codes. If the software you are running is built on a St. Pete's platform, this code means that the transaction you were processing was a 'reversal' (void) and the amount entered didn't match the original.

If you were running a sale and received this code and the display or receipt actually printed "declined" - it is a valid response indicating the customer card was declined and the code tells the service rep at your processing center why it was turned down (over limit, high risk, frozen account, etc...). If the response did show the word "declined", you can call your customer service department for your processor and they should be able to tell you what the code means in their system. If they don't - change processors as this is a standard service.
