Hi, yes you can go to control panel and access your printer from there, and update your driver, or uninstall printer and re install again using the disk. Hope this helps, if not come back to me?

Trying to install my printer

make sure that you download all the drivers for the printer BEFORE you connect it to your computer. Once the drivers are installed run the set-up from the downloaded drivers or follow the disc instructions. Both will tell you when to connect the printer. Please note if you have already download the drivers to your machine and are starting over, remove the old drivers before reinstalling

How to connect my printer to wifi

Here's what you can do:
  • If this is your first time to install the printer on your computer and if you have the Lexmark installation disc that came with your printer, just insert the disc into the computer hard drive and execute the application. The software will guide you on how to setup the printer for wireless connection.
  • If the printer software is already installed on your computer, go to Start (for Windows) menu > Programs > Lexmark 5600-6600 Series > Wireless Setup Utility. Follow the instructions on your computer.
  • You can also download the Lexmark X6650 printer driver from the Lexmark website at Follow the instructions on your computer.

My lemark x3650 will not pick up on my computer

If this is your first time using your printer in your computer, then, you need to install the driver enable for it to communicate with your computer. Look for the dvd that came with your printer when it was delivered to you. Insert the disc and let it run. Follow the on-screen instructions.

If you already installed that printer before in that computer but just stopped working, then, you probably have some problems with its communication. The communication between the printer and the computer has been interrupted. I can't tell what made stop working but I can tell you how to make it work fine again.

Here's what you need to do:

Un-install the printer's driver by going to the Control Panel/Remove or Uinstall Programs/Lexmark.... After you uninstall the printer's driver, insert the dvd (printer's driver) in the tray. Let it run. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Can't install 1210 printer

Insert the software disc for the HP 1210 printer before you plug the printer into the computer with the USB cable. Allow the disc to install the software. You will be prompted to choose a destination for the software.
Plug in the printer USB cable to the computer when the installation program tells you to. This will be after it has installed any drivers that you need to run the printer on the computer.
Complete the installation by running a print test to make sure the printer software is installed correctly. You may remove the disc after the print test is complete. Installation without a Disc Visit the website to find the available drivers needed to run the printer on your computer. On this page, select "Download drivers and software." Enter "HP 1210 printer" in the product box and click the arrow to find the drivers. Select your printer from the list provided. After the download is complete, you can open the file from the download location and install the software and drivers. Follow the installation software's prompts, after you finish download the drivers you need to double click it,it will give you the option to RUN or DON'T RUN the driver click on RUN and it would continue the installation. Printer wont install

Your query is very vague. Is it the software that you can't install. The drivers??? Make sure your pc and printer are connected using usb cable or parallel cable. Usuaslly printer drivers and software discs run automatically when you insert them. If the disc is corrupt/damaged you can usually download the software/drivers from the manufacturers website.

The port to which the printer is connected is not supported.

As i read your problem, it appears that you are having difficulty installing your Canon Laser Printer on the parallel port of a Home PC running windows Vista.

My first piece of advice to you is to verify that all of your cables are connected in accordance with the installation instructions that came with the printer.

Secondly, If you have already installed the printer using the windows default drivers (if available), try updating the drivers by inserting the driver disc that came with the printer into your CD ROM. Then go to Start->Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->Printers. Right click the printer you want to update and click "run as administrator" then click properties. Click advanced, click new driver and follow the directions in the wizard to install the new drivers. the CD Canon often supplies may not have the drivers readily acessable on them, so you may have to back out and run the install program for your specific printer to install the drivers on your hard drive and then locate them in the wizard.

You may also consider downloading and installing the latest drivers for your printer from the Canon website.

The port you want to install the printer on is most likely LPT1 if you're using a parallel cable (normal printer cable), or you may need to create a new TCP/IP port on your computer if you're using a network printer (but by the sounds of your question, you probably are just using the regular printer cable, or maybe a USB cable, which works the same as described above).
