Question about Heating & Cooling

Open Question

I have a Sharp Portable air conditioner Model CV-10NH. It will start up and cool and in just a few minutes, it's as if some one thru the switch. It just shuts off and all three lights on front start flashing green one yellow one and red one. The only way I can get it to turn back on is to turn power of and let sit for a few minutes, or kick the reset on the plug end. but it just runs again for a few minutes and shuts down again.

SOURCE: I have a Sharp portable

Most of these devices have condensate pans that need to be emptied. these can and will shutoff the unit when they become full. i would start to look low in the front maybe behind a removable panel. good luck.

My sharp CV 10nh keeps turning of off. Timer light appears even though timer is cancelled .

Clogged vents, inlets or output can cause overheating during operation. Better power supplies "shutdown" to protect themselves and the unit... I think your Display is telling you this IS a "ON" time... but the internal protection(s) MAY be preventing proper operation.

if it is a gurgling sound then the unit may not be on a level surface. Shift the unit slightly or check if the wheels are level and put some padding under the offending wheel.
But if it is a crackling sound then most likely the compressor motor capacitor is leaking and needs replacement.

Sharp cv-10nh not cooling

I wouldn't recommend servicing this yourself unless you are an air conditioner repair person by trade. If the unit is five years old or less Sharp covers the parts-----you pay the labor for the repair. There is a manufacture code on the unit that will indicate when it was made anyways if you don't have your original bill of sale. If the unit is within its first five years of life you would need to take it to a Sharp authorized service center. If you do not have a receipt you will need to get a proof of purchase letter from Sharp. If the unit is older than five years you can take it to any repair person but it might be cheaper to purchase another unit.
