If the screen is gone like it goes when u turn off the PC of in standby then it is because of power problem which means that the processor is not getting power! it may be a loose connection to the board or faultySMPS!
remove your SMPS and reconnect it this may solve the problem or else try another SMPS!!

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hi

Thank you for your query

If your Laptop is working on a external monitor and the Laptops screen has gone blank, this will indicate a fault with the LCD or the inverter (the little chip responsible for providing more power to the LCD)

Please book the Laptop in for further diagnosis

I hope this has been helpful

Black Screen Dell 600 Laptop

Hi,
The display drivers maybe corrupt.

Boot the machine into safe mode. Right click on My Computer (XP) Computer (Vista) and select manage from the sub menu.
When the window pops up select Device Manager.
A device list will populate. When it has look down the list for Display Adapters. Click on the + icon next to Display Adapters to it expands. Right click on the display adapter and select uninstall.

Restart the computer and let it boot in normal mode.
If it boots in normal mode let it detect the Display and install the drivers for it.
I would be a good idea to update the display drivers via the Dell support website.

If it still won't display in normal mode please post back.

Good luck.

Have you tried cycling all the way through the options with the F4? Most laptops toggle in a manner similar to: 1) Laptop only, 2) External display only, 3) Both displays, 4) Back to Laptop only (cycle repeats).

I think your laptop might be stuck in SUSPEND mode. Try unplugging the power and removing the battery and waiting five minutes, and then plugging it back in. If this does not work, try holding down the power button for ten seconds at a time and rebooting.

Good Luck...
