Reply You are correct, it does not show in the ADD/REMOVE so I either pay the $199 or restore from ORIG CD, correct? Thanks

Hello - not certain if you received this information, as it was posted on the primary page...

Do you have a backup from before the upgrade was done? Or, in the alternative, do you have the original CD / restore CD that came with your PC?

What is $199 for? If you had a valid license for the program, there should be a way for us to find a solution without purchasing it again. It may mean a call to Microsoft...

    Sorry, I got it - the $199 is for the Pro upgrade.

    One more thought, however, you mght try to see if your original CD will allow you to do a "repair" to bring it back to the Home version. I have not tried this, so I don't know what the result might be, but if you back up your data files, the reinstall from original should not be too bad. Please notify if you need further assistance. I suggest you run the SYSTEM RESTORE. Go to START, ACCESSORIES, SYSTEM TOOLS AND CHOOSE SYSTEM RESTORE. The choose the previous date that your Print Shop is working fine.

I suggest you to download this free antivirus cleaner tool. From this official link download the version you prefer. I suggest the version for cd creation since it will prove to be easier for you. Download the iso file and burn it to a cd using any cd recorder program you like. Start up the computer with the viruses WITH THE CD IN THE TRAY. Choose to boot from the cd and follow the on screen wizard.

A possible solution is to disable/remove the add-on. In IE8 click the tools menu. Select manage add-on.
In the window that opens look for a drop-down list headed with Show.
The selections available are
  1. All add-ons.
  2. Currently loaded add-ons
  3. Run without permission
  4. Downloaded controls
Select All add-ons to display all of them. Find the culprit, higlight it and press the button (at the bottom) disable.
Check also the InPrivate filtering.

You can also Click the Tools Menu>>Internet option >>Advanced Tab. (see picture)


Click the Reset Advanced setting button and the Reset button below.
Restart the browser.
A suggestion: install firefox. If you have a problem with one browser you can use the other and not get stuck.

Media player ,system restore, help and support not working

( first remove it and then reinstall it again )

kindly follow the below procedure

click > Start > settings > control panel > Add Remove Programs > Add/ Remove Windows Components > Windows Media Player .

" kindly (Untick) and Click > (Next) > ( Finish)
so that Windows Media Player is removed . "

Now to load back fresh Windows Media Player.

kindly do same procedure to reach there as mentioned below.

click > Start > settings > control panel > Add Remove Programs > Add/ Remove Windows Components > Windows Media Player .

kindly (tick) mark the Windows media player and click > ( Next ) > ( Finish)

What is the system doing when you try to change the operating system?
You should be able to uninstall the SP in ADD/REMOVE Programs.

Having trouble with HP ..Windows XP

I suggest that :
  1. Press F8, choose command line (if you know) and backup any file that you need (copy to an external drive, pen drive, cd or other medium). Please skip this step if you allready have updated backups.
  2. you restore the windows XP with the original cd / dvd, and choose format disk.
  3. remove the cd / dvd when asked for reboot
  4. Restore your data files and update the operation system with Microsoft update.

I did post another comment since that first one with the $199 question, and hope that you got that.

Since then, I did a little research on pricing, and there appear to be few alternatives to the $199. The only instances where the pricing was lower appear to be either original or SP1 versions, which would require substantially more time on your part to update. So, I think it is a choice between reverting using the restore CD, or unfortunately paying the $199. In either case, I would recommend doing a full backup of at least your data files, and any other software that you may not have handy, just in case something goes wrong with the solution. Best of luck!
