Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

I have a Fujifilm S5100. My wife lost my XD memory card. I bought a new one and now when I open the Fine Pix Viewer it no longer automatically uploads the images. I have pics of our Hawaiian vacation now...

am I to understand that it is not opening the software automatically or the software do not see the card ...anyway ..probably the card is not the same in size and so ...or it wasnt formated in the camera before use...anyway try to reinstall the software you use...or better if you have the driver and tha camera connects..just take a look into My computer folder after the connection is made...you might see teh camera present there as a removable device (the XD card inside) ..or like a separate drive with the camera name ....in first case just open and copy picks ..in second case...right click and choose explore ...it will show the content of the camera ...
anyway ..if non of this will work ..just get a card reader that can handle this type of card ...and import them directly ..(open removable device copy /paste)
another way to try is to install a photo manager ..like ACDsee (link inserted)
this manager have a feture that import from device ...if the camera driver is installed it will scan the device and import the pictures...

Uploading New Photos

Buy an inexpensive card reader to download your pictures to a folder you create on your desktop. That way, you can select which ones to download to the folder.

My computer doesn't detect my finepix s602zoom

I have not had this problem, but I always use a card reader to upload my photos.
It saves on wear and tear on the small usb socket on the side of the camera. I can't see any reason to use a cable if all I need is to upload photos.

Can't upload videos?!

You need to have Quicktime 7.0 because the files are saved as a MPEG4. Go to Apple's website and download and install the latest version of Quicktime. Once you do that, you can use any basic movie program (like Windows Movie Maker) or just copy it from My Computer.
