If the ignition switch fuse, starter relay, battery, and starter are all new, why wont my jeep crank

Here are some possible reasons:

Park/neutral switch is open.
Poor ground connection to starter.

You can test the park/neutral switch by either jumping the solenoid (connect the hot terminal to the start terminal to see if the starter cranks--if it does, the ground is good) or by interrogating the starter relay socket. To interrogate the relay socket, use a 12 volt test light connection the clip to battery positive. Probe the socket terminals with the test light. If only one terminal lights the light, your park/neutral switch is bad or the start wire to the solenoid is bad.

The car was running fine then it decided to not start. the engine dose not turn over. Checked starter and battery they are fine. Any ideas for our next step? would help a lot only car we have.

Hi, if it makes no sound at all, try starting in neutral. If that works, the problem is the transmission range sensor. If that doesn't work, I would recommend interrogating the starter relay socket. You would need a voltmeter to do that. If you have a voltmeter and would like the instructions for interrogating the relay socket, please get back to me. This is the easiest way to figure out what is wrong.

I have 2005 monte carlo it keeps over heating the cooling fans are not comming on I replaced the relays and its still over heating and I can't find the heat senser any help

The coolant temp sensor is on the thermostat housing at the back of the engine. See pictures below. Try taking the connector off the sensor--this should turn the fans on. If not, you may have a problem with power distribution to the fans. You can interrogate the relay sockets to verify that the PCM is sending a signal to turn the fans on. Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6022358-relay_check on how to interrogate the relays. The PCM signal is a ground signal, so one of the socket terminals should be dead until the engine is hot--then it should become a ground. I have pasted the wiring diagrams below, but resolution on FixYa is not great. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi i got a 1998 2.5 petrol jeep cherokee sport the peoblem i have no spark and no power to the coil but the petrol pump etc is working fine and petrol is coming through any ideas thenk you

First check fuse 20. If good, find the auto shutdown relay, probably in the box shown below. swap it with the horn relay and see if that works. If not, interrogate the relay socket to see what's going on. I pasted the wiring diagram below. Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6022358-relay_check for instructions on interrogating the relay socket. These are generic instructions. If you get stuck, please get back to me.

The cooling fan does not work, I hooked it up direct to the battery and it worked. I also checked the temperature sensor

probably the relay then. relays are usually in the engine compartment relay box. You should have 2 of them--high and low. There is also a 60 amp fusible link to check (see diagram below). Recommend you interrogate the relay socket with the engine running and hot to make sure the PCM is trying to turn the fan on. If you can't find the relay, please get back to me.
