Hello ebayaddict,

Did you just delete the icon on your desktop pointing to MS Word, or did you uninstall it using the add/remove programs? I reckon you probably just deleted the icon. If this is the case, there is no need to worry, the program is still there and you can access it by clicking START > ALL PROGRAMS > MICROSOFT WORD.

If you want an icon your desktop , just right click the entry, choose "create shortcut". Now copy and paste this on your desktop.

SP3 is the third and final service pack released for Microsoft Windows XP, and it eliminates many of the security holes that previously affected XP. While Microsoft recommends that users download SP3 using Windows Update, some users are unable to do so. However, it's easy to create a Windows XP SP3 installation CD; it requires only that you download the pack from the website and burn it to a CD-R/DVD-R using an ISO burner program.
Download the SP3 installation ISO by visiting the first link listed in the "Resources" section of this article. Save it to your Desktop. Download ImgBurn and save it to your Desktop. Double-click the installation executable for ImgBurn and click "Next." Follow the remaining onscreen prompts and click "Finish" to complete installation of ImgBurn. Insert a blank CD-R/DVD-R into your DVD drive. Open ImgBurn by going to "Start," "Programs" and "ImgBurn." Click "File," then "Browse for a source file." Navigate to your Desktop and select the SP3 ISO file. Click "Open." Click the blue "ISO to CD" button located on the bottom left of ImgBurn. The program will begin creating the Windows XP SP3 installation CD. This process may take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes to complete depending on the speed at which the CD-R/DVD-R is being burned. Click "OK" once the CD-R/DVD-R has finished burning. You've successfully created a Windows XP SP3 installation CD.

Sometimes there's no better way to repair a damaged Windows XP install than to start from scratch and reinstall the whole thing. It's a drastic move, but it is almost guaranteed to work. (Only serious hardware issues or incorrectly installed files can cause errors in this case.) If all other options have been exhausted, and your computer still won't function correctly, fear not: After a reinstall it should be running as good as new.

Locate an XP install disk, preferably the one that came with the computer, and any other software packages and drivers. Most of the time these will come packaged with the computer at the time of purchase. To save your data, copy information in your "My Documents" folder and any other important data you might have stored on the hard drive to a flash drive, CD or an external hard drive. Insert the XP install disk into the computer's CD drive and reboot the computer. The computer should automatically boot from the disk, loading the blue Windows XP Setup screen. On some computers, you may need to press a button when prompted to boot from the disk. After the Windows XP Setup has finished loading files, press "Enter" as prompted on the screen to set up Windows XP, and then accept the Licensing Agreement on the next screen by pressing "F8." Navigate the partition menu to find the partition on which Windows XP had previously been installed (likely, there will only be one) and press "D" to delete it. Verify that you want to delete the partition on the screens that follow. Set up a new partition, press "C," set the desired for the partition and press "Enter" to create it. The new partition will now be listed on the previous partition menu. Select the newly partitioned space, and press "Enter" to set up Windows XP on it. The Windows XP Setup program will format the new partition and continue with the graphical user interface portion of the installation process after the computer reboots. Navigate through the set-up menus that follow. The setup program will reboot the computer and load Windows after it has finished installing files. Reinstall any drivers and software that may previously have been installed on the computer by inserting their disks and going through their installation processes. Download Windows updates from Microsoft's website. (See Link Below.)

NOT ABLE TO INSTALL WINDOW XP

Hi meetabdullah,

Have a nice day.

If you're running Windows XP and your computer software crashes or becomes unusable, you may have to run Windows XP recovery to reestablish your software and make your computer usable once again. When purchased, many computers don't come with a Windows XP recovery disk, but you can download one for free. The Windows XP recovery disk holds almost all of the computer software and files that came loaded with your PC and can assist you in rebuilding your hard drive.

Here are some instructions that somehow could help you:

1.Place a formatted disk in your disk drive. Click on the "Download a Windows XP recovery disk from Microsoft" link in Resources below. Click "Download." Then click "Save." Find your disk drive on the menu and click "OK."

2. Remove the disk when the Windows XP recovery disk download is complete, and place it in the computer on which you need to use it.

3.Shut down your computer; then turn your computer back on. Your computer will automatically start up running on the Windows XP recovery disk, which will allow you to install Windows XP once again.

There is a exclamation mark in the device manager beside the microsoft ISATAP adapter#5. Should this exclamation mark be here?

No. If you have the driver for it try reinstalling it. If you don't I would delete the device and reboot. This will force the drivers to be reloaded unless they were deleted...If they were deleted and you are not very good in computers, you may need a bit more troubleshooting than on line help.
