Question about Nokia 5310 Cellular Phone
I was adding music to my memory card, and i may have put to much. I put the memory card into the my nokia 5300 and it wouldnt turn on right, the screen was white and only showed the date, then the screen faded black, and now it wont turn on right.
I use a microsd to load files that i havent tried on the device before, to test safely. If it crashes then i can simply remove the microsd and clear it. If the "bad" or incorrecly encoded files are loaded onto the internal memory of the device then you will be unable to clear or bypass the "building library" stage and the device is bricked. Take it back to where you bought it and get it replaced if this happens, that's what I had to do when I bricked it.
Maybe we all need to write to iriver and request much improved firmware that allows wiping of the internal memory BEFORE the build library stage as well as the option to disable or an improvement of the "build library" functionality. A simple solution would be to set a flag in a config file whenever files are added to the device and it doesnt do a build library unless the config flag says new files are present and that it is required.
