My Sherwood RX-4109 sounds "quieter" and "muddier" than it previously did. Also the "click" when it turns on in quieter. Wondering what this could mean

Main board fault. Shorted component/s at its audio output section circuit. Most common fault is with its audio output transistors. If any one of them get shorted [collector to emitter short]; this kind of fault can occur. Check 2SD1510 / 2SB2510 transistor pair at this section circuit for short. If found shorted, check all the other components related to these transistors and make sure that all are good; otherwise, the replaced transistor too will get damaged in no time. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

I have a panasonic plasma TH-42PZ85E when I switch it on it 'll change to green and then change to red again. And the red 'll blink 7 times please what maybe the fault?

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

TV CUT OFF,CLICKING NOISE NOW & STANDBY BUTTON FLASHING

"Short circuit" protection section circuit detects a short circuit; most often with its main board; and shuts down the set immediately after switch ON; to prevent further damage to components. This is what happening with your TV. Contact any service technician.

I have an Apex pf3230 32" TV that recently shut off, no power besides a slight clicking noise. The noise seems to be coming from a large component with a solid copper band about 3/4" wide... on said...

The short circuit protection circuit inside the set; detects a short circuit [shorted component/s]. The circuit shuts down the set; to prevent further damage to components. That is happening here. The sound you hear is from a cut of relay; which in turn switches off the set. Contact any service technician to detect the fault. Never switch the TV "ON"; until this fault has been rectified. It might make things worse. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Hitachi 32ld8600 keeps blowing fuses

There should be a short circuit at the main power supply regulator board. Check all the rectifier diodes and other components. Check the switching device for short. To get more details, http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

I have a sansui tv set with a power problem . MOSFET W11NB80 in the power section is completly blown . can t get it in the local market in kenya what is the equivalent value. its a crt television...

Hello

W11NB80 is an N-channel 800V-0.65ohm - 11A - rated Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor [MOSFET]. You can use the folowing substitutions for it
[ 11NM-80, 12NK-80 & 10NC-802]. All of these are its equalent substitutions.
Before replacing the mosfet, check the entire power supply secion for any short circuit, or zener diodes faults. If any of the zener diodes are fused, it will run out the MOSET you sumstitue again. Check it keenly. Unsolder one end of each component, lifit it up a liile from the circuit board and check. Especially zener diodes must not show any leak in 100Kohms range. It is best to replace them all I suggests.
I don't know about its availability in Keniya, yet you try to get it from any electronic spare part shops. f feels any difficulty in getting the same contact [E-Bay] site, they will reach you the exact component at your doorstep. Ok.

Need to replace transistor. No pin out available for red, black and blue wires, please let me know which one goes to transistor's K, A and G.

If the devce you are referring to has K (Cathode) A (Anode) G (Gate) then you are referring to a SCR and not a transistor!
SCR are typically used in AC light dimmer and motor speed control.
You should always use the same or higher rated equivalent component: a Transistor (usually used in DC circuits) IS NOT a substitute for a SCR (usuallly used for AC circuits)!
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE DEALING WITH LETHAL AC MAIN VOLTAGE so unless you are familiar with both Electronics and Main powered devices, I would NOT recommend that you attempt this repair.
As a general rule, if you cannot identify what the original device was and where it originally came from on the circuit board, I would leave it to a qualified person.
Hope it helps you make the right decision.

I own a JVC UX-G37 Micro Component System. The display has stopped working and there are no lights at all on the display except the Standby light. Apart from that there is no other problem with the system.

Check CP901 (ICP-N10-T) in power the supply board. The normal state is a conductive device, in case of protection, it becames an open circuit. Substitute it by a new one.
